PERU, Queca Espinoza, The first Illuminated Rosary was held in Lima-Peru on March 6, 2008, beneath a splendid sun with some gusts of cold air helping to refresh everyone. On March 7th Nelly would depart for Germany and she wanted to experience what she had in Schoenstatt, Germany along with her relatives. What a returning stream! The Illuminated Rosary arrived in Germany a few years ago from the Rosary Campaign in Argentina and has presently spread throughout the country forming an important part of programs for large Church conferences, and now it returns from Germany back to Latin America… This time Queca Espinoza and the people from the La Molina Shrine did not get lost on their way to the Salamanca neighborhood, where Nelly, who was born in Peru but resides in Germany, built a Wayside Shrine for the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt. They arrived with Carmen Scamarone at 10:00 a.m. with the Auxiliary Pilgrim MTA of Serenity and Confidence, the pictures of their homes, and to complete the mysteries– the Unity Cross. Nelly’s relatives were already waiting for us with the candles and the flowers, and they had beautifully decorated the Wayside Shrine. They turned on the sound system and the most beautiful experience unfolded: each person approached the microphone and before the Blessed Mother, looking directly at her, they spoke out loud their most important petition. They would offer a petition, which perhaps they had carried in their hearts for a long time and were anxious to express; therefore, in some cases tears were shed, others could not finish their prayer, others forgot the Hail Mary. This was proof everything was spontaneous and from the heart. The Blessed Mother guided all the people who arrived at Gutierrez Park on this morning, filling them with joy and the desire to share because their hearts were filled with love for her. Mother I carry you within me…Carmen spoke to them about the meaning of Nothing without You, nothing without us, as well as the Capital of Grace. Between the mysteries they sang:
Among the petitions heard was: a constant plea for their children, peace in the world, that the Gutierrez Park neighbors will gather around the Blessed Mother and forget their differences. There were prayers for single mothers, for their spouses, for the health of relatives and neighbors, for learning to forgive because it is the only way that we will deserve to be forgiven. The crown of living roses at the feet of the MTA was a gift made with much love for her and her Son. Translation: amj, USA |
