BRAZIL,Cassiano Reporter for PROJAC. On the afternoon of 21 January the Tabor Shrine Committee met with the Jacarezinho Municipality secretary to discuss the inauguration of the Shrine on 18 October.
Given that this will be the 22nd Shrine to be inaugurated in Brazil, 15 to 20 thousand people are expected to attend the celebration and will include large groups of pilgrims from all corners of Brazil, Latina America and representatives from Germany.
A partnership proposal between the municipality and Shrine committee was presented at the meeting to prepare for this important event. It was decided that the municipality will create the infrastructure, paving and parking as well as provide logistical support. It was also proposed that a joint municipality-shrine commission will be formed to facilitate communication.
It is also expected that Fr. Antônio Maria will be in attendance to entertain those present with his songs and spiritual messages.
The Shrine is accustomed to receiving large numbers of pilgrims.
It is a place of grace where pilgrims are welcomed, given a home and transformed by the powerful love of God and our Mother and Queen.
This Shrine will be an important religious and cultural landmark for Jacarezinho which will bring improvements and developments to the town and region, since the shrine normally receives large numbers of pilgrims. For those who are interested in participating in the activities of the Shrine: a Men’s Rosary takes place on the first Saturday of each month at 3pm followed by Holy Mass at 4pm. On the 18th of each month, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place between 9am-2:30pm, followed by Holy Mass together with the Diocese of Ourinhos.
