AUSTRIA, Family Federation. Ten leaders, that is, family delegates of the Schoenstatt Family Federation in Austria accomplished a milestone in the development of the Schoenstatt Family Work in Austria when they met on December 27th – 30th, 2007 at Schoenstatt in Kahlenberg, Vienna.

After the start of the first Federation course in 1989, the first consecration of Family Federation on October 3, 1993, and the founding of the official community on November 15, 1998, the families who gathered officially constituted the Family Federation in Austria as an autonomous community within the structure of the Schoenstatt Work.

Martha and Martin Riegler were elected as the first leaders of the Family Federation. Helga and Helmut Schroer are also on the board as assistants and Inge and Hans Haslinger are counselors. The Spiritual adviser is Father Werner M. Kuller.

At the service of the community

The Rieglers consider their leadership task as a "service to the community," and they want to commit all their abilities and strength so the Family Federation will continue to develop. The Austrian Family Federation, they said, should be more and more a place where the families "can be together with joy, and walk the good road."

The Family Federation wants to continue to be the "soul" of the Family Work in Austria.
