AUSTRIA, Sister Ingrid María Krikl. On October 23rd, just before the closing of the jubilee year celebration of the Shrine of Kahlenberg, there was a surprising visit: Nosimo Balindletla, Prime Minister of Eastern Cape, one of the nine provinces of the Republic of South Africa. She had promised to visit the Blessed Mother once a month in the Shrine, and it seems that she is fulfilling this promise. Developing political relations between her province and the province of Lower Austria brought Nosimo Balindlela to Austria for a few days. Immediately upon landing at the Vienna airport, she expressed the desire to visit the Schoenstatt Shrine in Kahlenberg. She cancelled some appointments to make time for this. She was welcomed with fog and rain at the Schoenstatt Center of Kahlenberg, but she also received an authentic and cordially joyful welcome. Since the Prime Minister is at home in Schoenstatt, in the true sense of the word: she had sealed her Covenant of Love at the Shrine of Cathcart. When she was prudently asked if there was a jar in "her" Shrine in South Africa, she responded with a joyful yes. "Yes, of course it has an African one!" And she clapped happily when she heard that she would visit the place where the jars were created at the Shrine of Kahlenberg. This the first Shrine where a jar was placed. And the best gift for this very special visitor was a small jar for her Home Shrine, filled with the contributions to the Capital of Grace from those present. "Abanayo iwaynini": it has no more wine! The seven million inhabitants from her province need wine in many ways. The country is very poor, many people are homeless. Unemployment is great, and part of this problem is because of their unwillingness to work; there is also corruption, which worries Nosimo Balindlela greatly. She knows, however, that she’s not alone. She has entrusted her province to the Blessed Mother. She happily says that during her three years of government, it is the second time that her province has been classified as the best in the annual evaluation of the provinces of her country. This is a reality of the Covenant of Love! Father Kentenich’s pedagogyEva and Erich Berger, leaders of the Schoenstatt Movement in Austria, found a very attentive listener when they told the Prime Minister about the Academy of Pedagogy for Families, and their continuation with the course on Father Kentenich’s pedagogy. She asked them to build a network between the South African and Austrian families. She was very happy to know that the novena, Educate with joy, teachings of the pedagogy of Father Joseph Kentenich, has already been translated into English and will be available shortly.
