ARGENTINA, Teresita and Eduardo Dedomenici. With the paternal closeness of Bishop Carlos Náñez, Archbishop of Córdoba, who presided at the Eucharist on Sunday the 14^th, the Sixth National Encounter of the Family Federation of the Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt took place on October 13^th through the 15^th.

More than ninety families from all geographic regions of the country participated. They were accompanied by their children and grandchildren. With their presence, they formed a great family festival which numbered more than four hundred persons.

In a fraternal atmosphere, children, youths and adults shared the joy of coming together in recreational activities for all ages thus strengthening attachments and exchanging regional apostolic experiences which became different forums for reflection. According to the different localities, the topics which aroused interest were: Church; Mission; Education; Family; social and political Confines. Simultaneously, the youth also developed a workshop for leadership formation.

Twentieth anniversary of foundation

The encounter which takes place every four years, had a marked spirit of jubilee since the Federation will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its foundation in Argentina in 2007. The presence of the founding families was celebrated by everyone as an expression of gratitude for their loyalty and example. It was a great birthday party which included cake, party favors and dancing.

With a strong lay profile which characterizes the Family Federation and in the light of the charism of Father Joseph Kentenich, founder of the Schoenstatt Movement, the Family Federation aspires to reach the ideal of sanctity in marriage and family as an expression of its missionary and apostolic example in union with what was recommended to them by Pope John Paul II shortly before his going home to the Father: "…..The future of Humanity is forged in the family. The family is a school of love. Transmit to the people your enthusiasm for marriage and family….."
