ARGENTINA, Guillermo Rusas. Once more a group of people met on the grounds of the Schoenstatt Shrine in Belén de Escobar to volunteer their talents to assist children who need medical attention and a basic health check-up. This time 90 children attended, some of them were new to the Children’s Home, others were from the Number 4 and Number 5 Schools, and there were also children from the village neighborhood. A minibus brought them from the little school, some of them walked, others came with difficulty, but the most picturesque was a family who arrived on horseback. Before starting the health check-up they visited the Shrine to express their gratitude and to offer the journey to Mary. Five dentists, two pediatricians, four clinical doctors and a professional therapist participated; they were helped by five medical students, who came to collaborate. Around noon the children from Confidentia, from the Federal Capital arrived with their guitars and with their friendly disposition they made the children dance, play soccer and they helped to feed them. Donations, tasks, and activitiesThey received a donation of 550 meat pies, sodas, cookies, milk, cocoa, etc…There was a total of 55 volunteers who shared the tasks of welcoming the mothers with the children, they prepared and served lunch, they helped orient them in the medical rooms, they heated the pies and served them, they entertained them and basically they gave them much love. At the end, they bid them farewell with singing and that is how we will welcome them to the Health Mission next year. Now there is something else to do which will not be easy; that is to accompany them in the different treatments that they need and to obtain donations to do this.
