ARGENTINA, Monina Crivelli. On Monday, July 16th, very early in the morning, seven leaders of the Campaign from the vicar ship of Buenos Aires Center departed from "Confidentia" (the City Shrine) to San Isidro for a day of retreat and reflection. They were surrounded by a wonderful atmosphere, in which the main actor was the radiant sun that accompanied them throughout all the day. They reflected on the mystery of Schoenstatt, in light of the words of Father Kentenich.

The Shrine welcomed them in all its splendor with the Blessed Sacrament exposed for Adoration along with Rita Bueno, who with her warmth and natural kindness placed the Campaign Hall at their disposal. They ultimately met in Mothers’ Hall on the lower floor as planned when the reservations were made. This was the first visit to this place for the majority of the leaders, and they delightedly walked through the park, visiting the former colonial chapel, the bookstore, and the Wayside Shrine that John Pozzobon visited.

The meeting began with a brief introduction of each person, inspired by the previous task. Then they took advantage of the day that the MTA gave them and they scattered throughout the park for personal work where they selected the text they would work on; it could be a phrase, a thought or a strong ideal that especially attracted their attention. Later they exchanged their work with each other from which important conclusions were derived.

A strong call to the mission

If the word, leader, has not always had a good connotation then, each person recognized the strong call to the mission which goes beyond a responsibility that demands commitment and loyalty on our part. Based on this there is also a need to promote these conferences for creating depth by the leaders.

On the other hand, the "nothing without you, nothing without us" strongly resonated coinciding with everything that is fundamental and indispensable for the growth of the Campaign (like everything in Schoenstatt). The Capital of Grace offered daily, not just for big endeavors or deeds, but rather more through the small heroic acts of daily life. These are the ones that generally are not noticed, but they are decisive in order for the Blessed Mother to act and without which She is unable to work for Schoenstatt. Mercedes MacDonough must have contributed a lot to the Capital of Grace when her daughter-in-law recently only found out that she really hates to iron!!! As a result of this, they also found other wonderful opportunities to contribute to the Capital of Grace, such as tedious Sunday sermons, chaos of the children at home, the hazardous maneuvers of buses and drivers, the long waiting lines, etc. In conclusion what would become of us without this genial invention: the Capital of Grace?

They also saw that it is not just a condition for the Blessed Mother to work; but it is also a compelling school for self-education, where we are the great beneficiaries who in this way mold our temperaments according to the will of God.

A fire for the mission that is shared

Finally, there was a list of common tasks, which each person undertook, like the crowning of the Auxiliary MTA in Queen Mary Parish, where all the families that are visited are prepared with the Capital of Grace. In this way, they will be led to the title with which to crown the Blessed Mother and to visit many of those who are encouraged to seal the Covenant of Love by inviting them to go on pilgrimage to the Shrine. There was an open discussion about the Covenant of Love for pilgrims and for all the parish community of the Holy Redeemer Church with the support of the pastor, Father Edgardo Fitolite.

The enthusiasm of everyone to work and the zeal to share and to know more about Schoenstatt was impressive. As Father would say: Life enkindles life. The enriching exchange ended about 4 o’clock in the afternoon; reservations for the place were made for a second conference of reflection on August 13th in which the Founding Documents will be studied in depth in the light of John Pozzobon and of the Campaign.

Then it was time to bid the Blessed Mother farewell in Her Shrine with the respective group photo as a witness to the conference. Farewells and thanks were also extended to those who took care of us throughout the day: Elisa, secretary of San Isidro and Marta Pol. When we were ready to depart, there was still time for amazement. Before leaving the place, they discovered with great surprise the little "alpine house" at the entrance that had awakened such admiration and which they thought was a guardhouse, belonged to the pastor of the Shrine. What luxury! "The little house was blessed on June 18th, after the 7:00 p.m. Mass," this announcement can be found in the Shrine’s bulletin. "Now we must name it." Thank you beloved Shrine, now we will no longer be cold in winter and we’ll be protected on rainy days!"
