BRAZIL, Lucas Di Osti Romagnolli. On August 18, 2007, a few days after the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, eleven youths sealed their Covenants of Love with the Blessed Mother after they had participated in the first Youth Circle of the Covenant of Love, which was initiated on May 19, 2007. The Covenant Circles were inspired by the Schoenstatt Youth from the Londrina Boys’ Youth of Paraguay. They adapted this idea for their group and began this project in Brazil. The main objective was to lead more young people to a Covenant with Mary, since the Schoenstatt Family from Brazil is celebrating the year of the Covenant of Love this year. Furthermore, a secondary objective was to form new Schoenstatt Boys’ and Girls’ Youth from the circles. The Youth met weekly for three months on Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The boys met at the Boys’ Youth house, and the girls met in the Movement House. Each Saturday they invited someone to speak on a topic related to the Covenant of Love. In this way the hearts of these youth were being prepared to receive the heart of the Blessed Mother and to give theirs to Her. During the time the circles met there was also a dinner of attachment among the participants, and they experienced the Shrine, which motivated them even more to grow in the relationship with the Blessed Mother in the Shrine. Once again October 18, 1914 was realizedOn August 18th they began with a retreat, in which each person reflected interiorly. They wrote their Covenant Prayers, and they prepared more earnestly to seal the Covenant with the Blessed Mother. That night they joined the pilgrimage for the 18th at the Tabor Shrine of the One Who Crushes the Serpent. These five girls and six boys sealed their Covenant of Love with Mary in the Shrine making October 18, 1914, once again a reality as they gave themselves into the arms of the Blessed Mother. Next month they will begin a group of Boys’ Youth and another group of Girls’ Youth. By so doing, they will fully accomplish the objectives of the circle, thanks be to God. Maybe this Youth Circle can become a model for the youth from all over Brazil who would like to initiate a similar project in their cities.
