MEXICO, Omar Merino Gómez. In the Schoenstatt Shrine at Queratero, Mexico, thirteen new couples joined the Schoenstatt Movement during a Conference of Initiation. Advisors accompanied them and four married couples from the Family Branch.
Of the thirty 13 couples who participated in the conference, two were from Leon, one couple from Irapuato, and one from Celaya all in the state of Guanajato. The other couples were from Queratero. Lucy and Omar Granillo were responsible for organizing the Conference and assigning tasks that required couples to work together toward a common purpose.
The theme of the Conference was " The Human Goal" and was presented by Sister M. Lourdes (an advisor to the Family Branch). Later after participating in the Sunday Mass and a community luncheon, everyone heard three couples from the Family Branch, Maricarmen and Toño, Pueblito and Pedro, and Marina and Gustavo share their testimonies and introduce the main concepts of the introduction: Father Kentenich, the Shrine and the Covenant of Love with the MTA.
Finally, Father George (an advisor to the Family Branch) closed with his testimony and word of encouragement that married couples are integral to the Schoenstatt Movement and that it is good to be living Schoenstatt spirituality for their marriages, families, for the enrichment of Schoenstatt, and the Church.
