ARGENTINA, Tita and Héctor Ríos. The preparation for the traditional Pilgrimage of Workers has been underway for some time. This pilgrimage by foot is made from the Cathedral of Paraná to the Shrine of La Loma (about 6 kilometers). The motto for this year is "Mother, we ask for a good job, and for our families". The posters that invite the workers and their families to join in this hopeful petition were blessed and distributed at the Shrine of La Loma. The pilgrimage on foot departs from the center of the city of Paraná, capital of the Province of Entre Rios, from its Cathedral, at 2:00 p.m. The walk will go through the city to the area of Paracao, where the Shrine is located. It is a demonstration of popular faith, where the pilgrims gather singing, praying for work, and giving thanks for work already received. The Auxiliary of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign will accompany them as usual. The people arrive from neighboring cities and towns to participate in this expression of faith carrying with them all the petitions they gathered before hand in their communities thanks to the collaboration of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign. The communities that have already announced their participation are: the cities of Crespo, Valle Maria, Villa Elisa, Sta. Elena, Santo Tomé , Santa Fe, Recreo, Diamante, Nogoyá, Villaguay. Some of these are from the neighboring Province of Santa Fe. It will be a very special day, since it will be Pentecost and the participants will also join the Caritas Campaign for the needy. Throughout the pilgrimage non-perishable food, shoes, school supplies, and all kinds of help will be collected. And as in previous years, the petitions of the pilgrims are many, and they will also carry the petitions of everyone who wants to ask the Blessed Mother for fruitful work through www.schoenstatt.de. Petitions can be sent to titayhector@yahoo.com.ar. These petitions will be mentioned throughout the walk and they will be offered at the Holy Mass. Finally, these notes will be burned close to the Shrine of Providence or at La Loma as it is popularly known. Translation: Celina Garza, Harlingen, TX, USA/amj |
