BRAZIL, Sister Marcia María. "It is good to be here! Why is it so good for us to be here?" Sixty years ago, on April 12, 1947, Father Kentenich arrived in Londrina and he greeted the Sisters and all those present with these words. Of the ten visits that the Father and Founder made to Brazil, he was in Londrina four times: twice in 1947, once in 1948 and once in 1949. Since his first visit he already left an enormous gift with the precious inheritance of the proclamation of the Tabor Ideal in the land of Londrina.

Here, in this blessed land, Father’s favorite idea was received as a national mission for all the Brazilian Schoenstatt Family. (I must tell you of a favorite and (up to now) secret idea of mine…This should be our Tabor…" Founding Document of 10-18-14) (No. 6 of the Schoenstatt Founding Documents, p.30).

In view of these two very important events, the desire to celebrate this anniversary with a great celebration emerged during the 1st Encounter of Delegates from the Paraná Region that included the representatives of the Schoenstatt Family from the different areas.

"Tabor Fest II"

"Tabor Fest II" will be held on April 21st and 22nd, 2007. The celebration will consist of a congress with the main objective of celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Father and Founder’s visit and the proclamation of the Tabor Ideal, and it will also be a time to deepen its meaning and content.

"Tabor Fest II" will be open to all the Schoenstatt Family from the Region of Paraná and representatives from other places who wish to celebrate this important anniversary with them.

A celebration for the community will begin at 2:00 p.m. on the 21st, to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Enthronement of the Mother Thrice Admirable and Queen of Schoenstatt in the Cathedral of Londrina. This picture was enthroned by the Father and Founder on April 20, 1947 in what was then the Mother Church of Londrina.

During the program that is planned there will be a time of praise and of gratitude to the Blessed Mother, prepared by the Mother of God School, followed by a solemn Holy Mass at 4:15 p,m, presided by the Archbishop of Londrina, Monsignor Orlando Brandes. After the celebration there will be a Eucharistic procession to the Shrine, concluding with a blessing with the Blessed Sacrament.

Within the framework of this celebration, there will be booths with food and religious articles. There will be a musical and cultural presentation on the stage. A great number of pilgrims and caravans organized by the coordinators and missionaries of the Pilgrim MTA from different cities of the region are expected for the celebration of the people.

The Schoenstatt Family from Londrina invites all the Schoenstatters to accompany them in this celebration and to find the answer to Father Kentenich’s question:

"Why is so good for us to be here?"

Father, your Tabor – our Mission!
