ARGENTINA. Guido Rubio Amestoy. On March 5, 2007, the Mary of Nazareth Institute began the 2007 school year in its new home, close to the neighborhood of Rufina, in the city of Córdoba.

The great day arrived. The Mary of Nazareth Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers opened its doors for the 2007 school year in its new home after 9 years, for the members of the Civil Association Mary of Nazareth (who are in charge of the project) and after 6 years for the students, their parents and teachers. The structure is located close to the neighborhood of Rufina of the city of Córdoba, which during the first stages occupies a space of 2.900m², which will be expanded to 9.000m² that is projected to house 2 courses at the initial, primary and secondary levels.

To form new men for a new world,

The emotion was seen in the tears that ran down the faces of the teachers, parents and students when they entered the new building. The children ran through the large halls shouting phrases such as "look! it looks like a shopping mall!" The parents, who had bet on this ambitious project since 2001, defined in the mission of the Mary of Nazareth Institute as: "To educate firm and balanced personalities attached to God, Creation, the Family and the Community; exercising a creative leadership that impels personal development", showed humble pride…because the Blessed Mother has greatly rewarded their faith in a project of God. The parents of the children who recently enrolled seemed flustered…they did not understand the reason for such an "uproar". It was impossible to contain the emotions…the new structure is three times the size of the large rented house that housed the seeds of a great work until last year: to form new men for a new world, like Father Joseph Kentenich thought about for his educational project.

A dream to concretize: The Saint Joseph Technical Institute

The Civil Association of Mary Nazareth, a non-profit civil association has carried forward a dream since 1998 that will be materialized in two projects, along with the support of the community of Schoenstatt Fathers.

The first project, which is presently a reality, is the Mary of Nazareth Institute: a private, Catholic, lay school, at the primary level, with intensive English and computer courses.

The second one is the Saint Joseph Technical Institute, a free school that will be subsided by the former one and will be geared toward children of a low socio-economic level that has a dining room, provides intensive English and Computer courses, and that will also provide technical training (at the secondary level) that will help the students enter society and the work force. This second component began to materialize some years ago in the Kindergarten of Belén located in Villa Warcalde, city of Córdoba. This is a daycare center with 15 students between the ages of 2 -4, which carries out joint activities with the Mary of Nazareth Institute.

The dream of humanity in solidarity

This dream is the clear fruit of faith in Divine Providence, since its beginning in 1998, when it developed with the voluntary and selfless support of a group of people who dared to dream, a team of lay people and priests who dreamed, and still dream, of humanity in solidarity, impelled by free persons who will authentically live in love, faith and service.

The challenge has just begun, since it will be necessary to meet the obligations assumed in the first stage, to finish all the construction of the Mary of Nazareth Institute and to begin building the Saint Joseph Technical Institute. All of this at the rhythm that God will mark and through the prayers and the voluntary and selfless support of people who truly believe and dare to work for an education that is based on the values founded on Christ and Mary, to educate new men who will forge a new nation. In order to accomplish this they count on the prayers and support of the Schoenstatt Family.

Other schools in Argentina that teach according to the Kentenich pedagogy are, for example, the God the Father School in Mendoza, the Immaculata School in Rauch, Province of Buenos Aires, the José Manuel Estrada Institute in City Bell, La Plata http://www.schoenstatt.de/news2004/11november/4t1148en-ra--kentenich-schule.htm , and the two schools run by the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary, in Buenos Aires, and Oberá.
