MEXICO, Victor and Elena Lagunas. A MTA Wayside Shrine was blessed on the grounds of Cajones in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, on Monday, January 22nd. More than a thousand people arrived very early to the grounds where the Schoenstatt Family of Taxco desires for the Blessed Mother to establish herself in her Shrine.

Father Guadalupe Catalán, a member of the Diocesan Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers presided the Mass of Blessing. The family made spiritual contributions to the Capital of Grace that was deposited in an urn, which was placed in the foundation of the wayside shrine. It was buried very close to the wayside shrine.

Everyone wanted to be present

All the members of the Schoenstatt Family from Taxco, Acapulco, Chilapa, and Iguala were present in the Mass. The Women’s Branch, the Men’s Branch the Family Branch and the Girls’ Youth, as well as members from several Marian movements participated with much enthusiasm and joy.

People from the communities close to Cajones attended the blessing. They joyfully came on pilgrimage to the place where the Wayside Shrine of our Mother Thrice Admirable is located. People in wheelchairs, elderly ladies, women and children were also present at this important event.

Made from cantera stone

The wayside shrine was made from cantera stone in the shape of a shell and raised by the hands of God, our Lord. It was decided to use cantera since the Church of Saint Prisca and Saint Sebastian in Taxco are made from cantera stone.

Through this wayside shrine the Schoenstatt Family in Taxco asks the Blessed Mother to descend and to establish herself in her Shrine on this land.
