BUENOS AIRES, Alberto Sibilea, The MTA Mission Group, visited Henderson, a province of Buenos Aires, for the second time from December 26th to January 4th, with the motto: "Lord, show us the way". The group was composed of about 150 youth, the majority from the Shrines in the city (Confidentia) and San Isidro, but also with the presence of foreigners from Chile, Mexico and Germany. The group experienced a time of a strong presence of God, within themselves and for the people they visited.

Every morning, the missionaries visited the houses of Henderson, with the purpose of reaching all the people of the city once again. They knocked on all the doors with the picture of the Pilgrim MTA, announcing that the Mission was present and they invited them to the activities for children, youth and adults that would be carried out in different schools and at the Marian Center. Wherever the doors were opened to the missionaries they shared life experiences, the experience of Christ, the Word of God, and prayer along with some mate (herbal tea). With the ability of missionary ears and lips they clarified doubts, consoled sorrows, irradiated joy, and they constantly encouraged the people to get closer to Jesus in the activities, through the Rosary, and the daily Masses. The presence of the Blessed Mother, full of the Holy Spirit, accompanied the missionaries in their task.

The group was divided into five communities that populate four schools and the Marian Center of this city that has a population of 10 thousand residents. The missionaries were accompanied by two priests from Argentina, Father Palo Pol and Father Antonio Nin Mitchel; five semarians, Facundo Bernabei, Jua Pablo Villani, and Mauel Lopéz Naón, from Argentina, Pedro Miravalles from Paraguay and Nicolás Ovalle, from Chile; and two Sisters of Mary, Sister Fiorella and Sister María Rosa. All of them belong to the Schoenstatt Movement.

A response for each necessity

The response of the people was noticeable in the activities: Approximately 200 children, 100 youth, and 50 different adults came to the activities with the missionaries every day. People, who were away from the faith, many of them had not received the sacraments, approached the Eucharist by participating in the Mass. In the most important activity for the youth, 200 of them gathered for the "youth Night", that was carried out in the main square of the city, where a musical group formed by the missionaries was heard, and they motivated the youth to become participants of a change of attitude for all the people.

There was also a School for Leaders, with the participation of fifteen youth, who through three encounters were motivated to become locomotives that pulled many cars and that encouraged them to continue with the missionary work. Furthermore, eight couples came to the Workshop for Couples that consisted in three encounters of human and religious formation which were led by couples or by engaged couples.

Faith, a passionate road

Personally, it was an enormous joy to be able to go on this mission with friends and with my girl friend. Furthermore, the atmosphere of community also allowed me to make new friends. I believe that the Blessed Mother always surprises us with new experiences, some are very happy and others are painful, that show us that this road, far from being static and boring is passionate and full of challenges. When I returned from the Mission I met with my sister who had just returned from Europe. She told me that in Paris the Mass is celebrated in front of the tourists who see it as a spectacle, or a representation of customs from the past. As for me I returned from a Mission in which I witnessed that it is true that God works in concrete deeds. I believe that, as John Paul II said, "America is the continent of hope".
