The International Schoenstatt Movement already has 180 shrines around the world that enriches <<the geography of faith>> of the Church. The shrines are identical to the Original Shrine in Germany, where this apostolic movement was born. This is how Father Ángel Lorenzo Strada, vice-superior general of the community of the Schoenstatt Fathers, and postulator of the cause of beatification of the founder, Joseph Kentenich (1885-1968), explained it. He also spoke about the role of Mary in the Schoenstatt spirituality, stressing: "She cannot be absent in a Church that is called to be more of a family and a welcoming home for mankind, since she is the advocate of the woman and of her contribution to the culture of the people, defender of life and of the dignity of each person, an advocate for the poor and for the most needy.
The interview was also published in several news media in Latin America and Spain.
On January 16th, the Fides Agency of Rome published a news item about an initiative of the Family from Portugal. "Life in your hands, an initiative of the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt in Lisbon to give impetus to a campaign of prayer and a clarification of conscience, about the subject of life", reads the first paragraph of the news item that was also published in English, Italian, Portuguese and German.
