SCHOENSTATT, MKF. On the first day of their stay the pilgrims took a virtual tour with a slide presentation…The torrential rain and the cold that bid August farewell – that is theoretically the hottest month in Germany – prevented them from going out for a long while…They prayed and the next day the sun came out for a while. Every morning they had Mass in the Original Shrine with Father Horacio Rivas: this was the milestone of their brief pilgrimage to Schoenstatt. In this way, 20 young couples from Chile were able to enjoy some very blessed days in the place of origin.

Patricia Ahumada, from Rancagua, a missionary of the Pilgrim MTA, who has had some very interesting adventures of how she took the Pilgrim MTA to Cuba and Thailand, organized the pilgrimage from her travel agency. A few days before departing from Chile, she wrote: "I ask for special prayers for the pilgrimage, since we will go to Schoenstatt after preparing ourselves with the groups since October 2004…and the much desired date for all the pilgrims is close…to be able to step on this holy Marian land, to follow our Father footsteps, and to be in the Original Shrine and Father’s tomb. "

Passing through the religious shop

"I want more and more families to visit Schoenstatt to know the Original Shrine and all the places that is why I organize these trips", Patricia commented. While the couples were guided by Sister Maria Julia to the Shrines of the Schoenstatt Mountains, she went shopping: for a large photo of Father Kentenich that she needs for the Father’s corner that the Schoenstatt Family of San Fernando is preparing in the basement of the Shrine. She brought a large mailing tube from Chile so she could carry it without damaging it. She also bought some MTA prints in different sizes: "It is something different to have a print of the MTA that was blessed in Schoenstatt", she says.

To spread the covenant of love!

During the Mass of August 30th several Covenants of Love were celebrated – a Federation couple sealed their Inscriptio, others sealed their Membership Consecration , and others gave themselves to the Blessed Mother for the first time in the Covenant of Love. There were tears of emotion and of joy. It is a privilege to be in the place where the first Covenant of Love was sealed, which incorporates each covenant that has been sealed through the years. There was a burst of jubilation and gratitude after the Mass.

"We return home with a mission", they affirmed with conviction. It is the mission to spread the Covenant of Love! And Patricia wants to return soon…bringing more families to Schoenstatt!
