URUGUAY, Mirta Miranda. On Saturday, September 2nd there was an important encounter at the first Daughter Shrine at Nueva Helvcia, Uruguay. The Schoenstatt Family from Montevideo has dreamed, for a long while, about having a daughter Shrine in the capital city of their country. It was also the desire that the delegation from Uruguay, which participated in the encounter of the Movements with the Holy Father during Pentecost 2006, took to Schoenstatt and Rome.

In Nueva Helvecia-some 120KM. from Montevideo – Father Antonio Cosp, the advisor from Asunción, Paraguay, sister Maristela, Sister Marinés, and Sister María Mercedes, from Argentina were already present. It was a small representation of "Schoenstatt Mercosur".

With the motto NOTHING WITHOUT YOU NOTHING WITHOUT US the participants were divided into groups –composed by the different branches that were present – to work on the following questions:

Why do we want a Shrine in Montevideo?

What can we do to move this holy Marian crusade forward?

A rainbow united the Shrine of Nueva Helvecia with Montevideo

The participation of the Girls’ Youth and the Boys’ Youth was important. A Power Point presentation prepared by Sister Fiorella and the donation of chalice that belonged to one of the first families of the Movement in Montevideo for the future Shrine were also important.

The day began in the midst of a wind and rain storm. With the prayer of confidence and giving of self, everyone intoned the verses of the Hymn of the Family:

"Protect us with your mantle, Lady of Victory,
Ter Admirabilis Mater, the Tower of Ivory.
You ark of the new dispensation;
in storms, you remain in view.
The ages will see you conquer;
we shall never fail with you."

The journey profoundly motivated the participants and when it ended, the eyes and hearts were deaf with awe when they saw a large rainbow that seemed to unite the Shrine of Nueva Helvcia with Montevideo. The logo of the Movement that was created for the Golden Anniversary of the first Daughter Shrine was evoked. The rainbow of the Covenant departs from the Original Shrine and in the Shrine of Nueva Helvecia, it is transformed into a rainbow of the daughter Shrines that return the grace of the Covenant to Original Shrine, enriched with the contribution of all the cultures, of all the personal originality. "From here, your Shrine in all the world". And may it also be in Montevideo very soon!

Thank you Blessed Mother, for manifesting yourself.
