ARGENTINA, Martha Liotti. "This beautiful baby, Juan Antonio, has been in the neonatal ward for three months and we are ready to go home. Our family is eternally grateful to the Blessed Mother because thanks to Her and to everyone who took care of our baby, he is now well. The picture of the Blessed Mother of Schoenstatt, at our side, gave us the strength we needed during those very long days. There are no words to express so much love and such a demonstration of faith. We can only express our gratitude with deeds, beloved Blessed Mother…"What impresses us and fascinates us about the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign is the creativity that is awakened in the hearts of the missionaries. The missionaries intuitively know how to bring her, the great Missionary to those who need her, convinced that the visit of the Blessed Mother, who carries Her Son, Jesus, is the answer to every situation, every difficulty and every human sorrow, just like the visit to her cousin Elizabeth. When a baby is born prematurely, there is a baby, who struggles for his life, when the life of child is at risk because of illness or an accident isn’t it precisely at that decisive moment that the Mother of all children is needed to hold him like she held the Child Jesus that she carries in her arms? Some years ago, within the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign, the modality of the Pilgrim MTA for babies and children whose lives were at risk was initiated in Corrientes, Argentina. The missionaries take the smallest Pilgrim MTA in a white portable crib to the hospitals, accompanying the parents during their time of anguish and they encourage them to offer their baby to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In Corrientes, the capital of that province in Argentina, there are 10 Little Pilgrim MTA’s that take care of the little children. This mission is a Crusade for Life. The testimonies that the parents write in the notebooks speak for themselves. I will tell everyone about her miracle –Nayla Maria Lourdes"Nayla María Lourdes C. was born in Oberá (Misiones) on November 24, 2005 at 26 weeks of gestation, and she weighed 900 grams. We went to Corrientes (Capital) to the Modelo Clinic. When she was admitted into the neonatal ward, the nurse gave me a holy card of the Blessed Mother of Schoenstatt. Immediately afterwards, a missionary arrived and she invited me to consecrate her to the Immaculate Heart. We did and I prayed to the Blessed Mother for my little daughter’s life, for her to take care of her and to give her the strength to withstand everything. She now weights 1.640 grams and within a few days we will return to Oberá. She will continue in the neonatal ward for a while. Incredibly, we live a few meters from the Schoenstatt Shrine of my city. I never knew what it was about! Now I am blessed to be able to visit the Blessed Mother in her home over there, just as a missionary told me. There I will repay her for all she did for Nayla with my prayers. And I will tell everyone about her miracle". Patricia C., January 27, 2006 Every 18th I receive something special – María Nazarena G."María Nazarena was consecrated to the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt for babies and children at risk five months ago today, June 18, 2005. Every 18th something special happens to me, as a Catholic, as a wife and mother of a family. Having experienced a pregnancy at risk and delivering a premature baby has marked my life from that moment on. Today I can say that God and also Mary kept their word, and I have received the grace of sheltering and interior transformation. I have affection for and I am grateful to the people who brought me close to the Blessed Mother of Schoenstatt. God manifested his power and glory in Nazarena! I will praise and bless his name forever!" The greatest treasure that we have – Aitana Aymará C."Dear Blessed Mother: I am writing these lines to express my gratitude and to give testimony of the miracle that God worked with my daughter. The greatest treasure that we have is named Aitan Aymará, who was born in the city of Curuzú,Cuatiá on January 15, 2006. Our daughter was born with a genetic malformation; her abdominal wall did not develop completely, therefore, all her digestive system developed outside of her body. We were transferred to Corrientes (Capital) with our daughter on oxygen and with a bag outside of her abdominal cavity. The first miracle was that she arrived alive to the John Paul II Pediatric Hospital. There she underwent the first surgery after a 4 day wait. The operation was successful and her organs were placed inside her body and the abdomen was completely closed. The 72 post-operative hours were very long. During that time a missionary came to us with a picture of the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt, to whom we are and will eternally be grateful. She suggested that we consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart. And we did so. Miraculously, the baby recuperated in an unexpected manner, she was released 18 days after her birth. We are grateful to you, miraculous Blessed Mother, for your mediation on behalf of our daughter, and to all the people who prayed for her". G.B. and H.C., February 2006 Guide us with your heart, and we give you ours! Elías Fernando O."He was born on January 20, 2006 with cardio-respiratory problems; he was consecrated to the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt in the neonatal ward at the M. Clinic. We asked you to protect him and to care for him as you did with your Son, whom you carry in your arms. February 5, 2006 Elías was released on March 7th. Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt: thank your for taking care of him every day; guide us with your heart, we give you ours!" Fernando, Elisa and Facundo O. March 8, 2006 I was not alone – Celeste Itatí G.L.The lives of the babies who received the "Little Pilgrim MTA" are celebrated on the 18th of every month during the Covenant Mass at Corrientes, and we pray for those who departed to the Home of the Father. We invite the parents to attend this Mass along with their babies. Celeste’s parents and their children have been present for two and one half years. Celeste was born on October 30, 2003. At the age of one she had serious health problems. She was consecrated to Mary and her recuperation was marvelous. Celeste’s parents wrote to the missionary on her behalf: "Thank you for being with me, with my parents, and will all the family, strengthening them with the word of God and with the maternal and protective presence of the Blessed Mother of Schoenstatt, who accompanied them at all times, making this hard road easier, since I was not alone; rather, I had a wonderful group of people, united in prayer invoking our Heavenly Father our Mother Mary for my speedy recuperation and bringing all my family peace and comfort. G.L. December 10, 2004 We always felt your presence – Martina C."Our youngest daughter (we have three other children), Martina, was born on May 20, 2003, with congenital cardio problems; this took her to the brink of death, with very little chance for survival. When she was 15 days old she deteriorated and from that moment, the Blessed Mother gave us signs that she was on our side. Her therapy crib was in front of her picture that had been enthroned the previous week. A few hours after she was admitted, the Auxiliary Shrine arrived so the Rosary could be prayed. We always felt her presence. If we did not know what God had planned for our daughter, we always felt sheltered by her. That is how we learned about the modality of the Rosary Campaign for babies and children at risk. The missionary not only brought us the picture she accompanied us along with many people – even from Germany – who were praying for Martina. Through all of this, we understood that God makes use of people of good will to reach those who need him. In Germany she was prayed for in several Illuminated Rosaries, and Martina Rasch committed to especially pray for her namesake. Martina is now three years old. After two surgeries and much suffering, she a little girl that is full of life. Today we can say that God seeks us with caresses, in the simple things of everyday life, but when we do not listen, he uses the children, that come to save all the family. Now, we work for the Campaign for children who are at risk and we belong to the Schoenstatt Family Work". Débora and Nito C. September 2006. The parents also need helpIn January 2006, the Auxiliary of the Diocese visited the neonatal centers in the city of Corrientes. Doctors, nurses, parents, siblings, and other relatives of the small patients accompanied her. The missionaries, for the at risk babies, donated clothes for the Burn Unit of the John Paul II pediatric Hospital. Through Silvia, a nurse in the ward, they found out about the needs of the parents of the burn victims, who were admitted in the emergency room: "They come from the interior of the country…there was no time to pack extra clothes…and it’s about 40 degrees…they cannot change clothes. Sometimes we lend them hospital gowns so that they can wash their clothes." From the diary of a missionary of the CampaignHow is the mission of modality of the at risk babies and children of the Rosary Campaign carried out? What a better way to find out than to read the Diary of one of the missionaries of this "little" Campaign: Sunday, June 18, 2006 (Fathers’ Day in Argentina) 11:00 a.m. The phone rings. I answer.
I pray: Dear Blessed Mother, I am you instrument, use me as you wish. The mission was to make contact. The mother’s cell phone was not charged. There is no way to communicate with her at the hospital. It seemed like an insignificant task. But no! It was about being a bridge between two hearts that were suffering because of their son’s health. In a short while, the communication became one of serenity and confidence. Sunday July 23, 2006. 12 midnight The phone rings. I answer.
Darío’s eyes filled with tears, while he said "Tomás Augusto, I baptize you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…" The following morning I called asked about Tomás. The father answered the cell phone, and he said: "He died at 4:00 a.m., but you know what? We are O.K. We know he is already in heaven because of the Baptism." Now I am the one who has to dry my tears... Translation: Celina M. Garza, Harlingen, TX, USA |
