PARAGUAY, Cristina White. On the 4 of March the Rosary Campaign held its start-up Journey in Tuparenda. Cristina White and Mercedes MacDonough, of the coordinating team of the Campaign in Buenos Aires, Argentina, participated as invited guests. There were workshops, commissioning of new coordinators with Pilgrim MTA’s destined for families, and there were also commissioning for the Pilgrim MTA of serenity. In a brief time more that 60 pictures of the Pilgrim MTA of Serenity and Confidence were commissioned, Cristina White and Mercedes MacDonough are responsible for this modality of the Rosary Campaign. The Blessed Mother wants to give the grace of serenity and of confidence to the life of people who are sometimes overcome by a fear and an anguish that does not let them to fully live in freedom as the children of God.

The two missionaries returned to Argentina full of enthusiasm. Cristina White relates how she experienced the Journey in Paraguay:

Last 4 of March Mercedes MacDonough and I participated in the Start-up Journey of the Campaign close to the Shrine of Tuparenda, Paraguay. Since the moment that Father Antonio Cosp – Director of the Movement and Adviser of the Campaign in Paraguay – invited us we lived with great expectation and joy for the possibility of sharing the mission with our brothers and sisters from Paraguay. This is a year of special graces since the Shrine of Tuparenda will celebrate it Silver Anniversary in October. From the time we arrived the night before to the airport of Asuncion we had a warm and festive welcome, which made us feel at home without knowing each other. From the beginning we were strongly impacted by the Home Shrine experience in the homes we visited and where we stayed.

A Garden of Mary that conquers the interior deserts

The day of the Journey began early and the people began arriving to Tuparenda from many areas, some very far away. The objective of the encounter was to re-enkindle the Campaign in the heroic experience of the Covenant of Love in the spirit of the heroes, with John Pozzobon as a model. The talks of motivation and the exchange of ideas were based on this subject. We also presented a simple workshop to maintain the Covenant of Love alive, using the image of a rose bush as a symbol of our consecration. In the group work afterwards there was a strong coincidence, when the conclusions were presented in the general audience, it was that the "motor" that was key for the Mission in the Campaign was the coordinator’s Covenant of Love. As an image we were able to summarize by cultivating a great Garden of Mary in the Campaign as a part of the great Garden of God, versus the great interior deserts that humanity lives today.

There are more than 60 Pilgrim MTA’s of serenity and confidence in Parguay

Something very important that must be stressed was feeling the strong irradiation of the new modality of Serenity and of Confidence that carries the Schoenstatt pedagogy incarnated in Sister M. Emilie, who was able to conquer the great fears and anguish in herself thanks to the education she received from Father Kentenich. More than 60 Pilgrim MTA’s have been commissioned in a short time and it is a sign of the response that this modality has for difficult situations that are experienced nowadays. "Sister Emilie is working wonders, to the point that the one responsible for the Modality –Luis Lescan and his spouse, Rosa Maria – told me that they are waiting for medical reports to prove important miracles in Paraguay. She did not speak much, but Sister Emilie moves hearts of hundreds of Paraguayans at this time", Mercedes relates.

A Brother of Mary who was present approached us asking what could be done so that the Campaign would be the bearer of the wealth, giving of self and mission for the Church of Mario Hiriart, a Brother of Mary from Chile whose process of beatification is in progress. All of this shows us how that which Father Kentenich said: "Notice how the campaign that contains all the fundamental forces becomes effective", it is becoming clearer since the graces of John’s giving of self and also that of the saints and heroes of the Family are becoming known in a popular, swift and fruitful manner allowing the people, the families to become attached to the models and intercessors who illuminate their lives.

"Schoenstatt should move faster"

At the end of the Journey we evaluated with the organizers and it was beautiful to feel the coincidence in the challenges towards the future and where to place accents guided by the signs of practical faith of Divine Providence. There is no doubt about the potential of the Campaign, but neither is there any doubt that the Blessed Mother is asking for a heroic giving of self in order to work on her way as the "Great Missionary". These are times of acceleration on our road to sanctity, but we also count on the acceleration of Grace. As John said to Father Esteban: "Schoenstatt should move faster". This depends on a great part on each one of us, and in this way we saw the importance of cultivating our attachments to always mutually re-enkindle ourselves.

The next morning we bid farewell with the great desire to return to this sister land, where our hearts burned with the fire of the Covenant that will not go out. These experiences are a testimony of the words of Jesus: "I have come to bring fire to the earth and how I wish that it would already be in flames." The graces of the Shrine could be felt, and the mission consciousness grew to carry, to be joyful and hopeful bearers of the Good News:

"God is Father, God is good and everything he does is good."
