PARAGUAY, Jose Luis Fontclara. Two weeks ago Schoenstatt Paraguay again experienced a very special time in the life of our family, we have received the new novices of the Movement!!, who come every two years as part of their formation to become future Pa’I (priests in Guarani) of the Schoenstatt Movement. They come from Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries, we could say from Iberoamerica, to carry out their formation in the Novitiate of Paraguay, for 2 years, to then become seminarians and continue their formation in Chile, and continue in this manner until they finish the 10 years of preparation as priests for the Movement.

The family from Paraguay is very happy to receive them, it is the new blood of the future spiritual leaders of the movement, they come to bring new songs, joy, spirituality, and above all, to carry the message of the Living Christ and the New Man, since they represent the Church of Today, and the Church of the Future.

Novices receive support

It is a great thing for the Boy’s Youth of Paraguay to have them, since they are able to speak with them once in a while, to share their experiences as youth, and above all, to see that they are like them, ordinary youth, who have had girlfriends, they have worked studied, participated in sports, and that now they are giving their all for higher ideals without losing their personality, they are themselves, but closer than ever to God the Father. The family branch is also available to help them, they form a group, that takes care of offering the young men and their novice master, Father Francisco Pistilli, whatever help they need, along with him the couples give the maximum support to these young men who come from afar, they become their godparents, and they even become their parents, offering them affection and help at all times.

Novices are welcomed

The official reception of the novices at the Young Shrine of Asuncion was held two weeks ago, on 12 March. It was a special situation, the youth were seated in front of the altar, they were happy, and the people looked at them curiously, those who knew they were novices, looked at their faces to see if any of them was a friend from the Marian Crusade, or the World Youth Day, and in this way reunite themselves in this great Schoenstatt Family or simply, those who did not know they were novices, asked if they were some large group of the Boy’s Youth who were going to seal their Covenant. The response had to wait and at the end of the Mass Father Pistilli introduced them; each one said his name, the country of origin and what they did before falling in love with the Blessed Mother.

There was a warm applause after each name, and even more so, when it was a novice from Paraguay, since Schoenstatt Paraguay is experiencing a very fruitful time, with vocations in all the courses, for the past eight years.

Then, after meeting their friends from the world or simply finding out how many were from Chile, or Argentina, or surprised with those from Portugal, and among the comments from the girls from the Girl’s Youth, lamenting the loss of a potential future husband, or some lady that said: they are sweet and so young!!!....the new novices were welcomed to the Nation of God, the Heart of America, and everyone opened their hearts and their homes to them.
