USA, Chris Rockers. On Sunday, October 23, 2005, the Jubilee Family Shrine in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, held their annual October Celebration. It was a beautiful fall day with a little chill in the air that 100 pilgrims came to visit the MTA in her shrine and to attend the festivities in regards to the new motto "We go with you." The ideas for this motto relate to the time Fr. Kentenich asked Fr. Menningen, "Do you go with me?" at a terribly hard time in Schoenstatt's history with events that eventually led to Fr. Kentenich's exile. They wanted to leave the "you" open in "We go with you" so as to easily insert Jesus, MTA, the Church, Fr. Kentenich, the Pope, the hierarchy, etc.
Fr. Dieter Haas come to celebrate mass and give the motto talk; the Schoenstatt family enjoyed, as well, to have a delicious home cooked turkey meal with all the trimmings, and to have the Minnesota Schoenstatt Girls and Boys Youth give a presentation on World Youth Day 2005. World Youth Day revivedAs the youth introduced their program, they came in a procession carrying replicas of the WYD cross and icon, carrying candles, and a Schoenstatt banner. The youth did an outstanding job with their video presentation and a day by day commentary was given by all the youth. "We felt as if we had made the journey with them," one of the participants shared. "Their enthusiasm was well received by the crowd of pilgrims present today. I was so impressed with the youth procession. It really made a lasting impression on me and how fortunate we are to have two youth who were able to attend WYD." The young people invited everyone to join in the theme song from the International Youth Festival and to even join in the actions! The youth presentation ended with a "bang" as balloons were brought into the room for each to pop and receive a quote from Pope Benedict that had been put in the balloon. The day ended with Benediction in the shrine. One couple made their covenant of love in the shrine. They received a yellow rose as a sign of our MTA’s covenant with them. It was a joy to be able to witness a covenant of love on the day the Schoenstatt family of Minnesota celebrated the founding of Schoenstatt, and all are convinced that many graces flowed that day from the Jubilee Family Shrine.
