WJT SCHOENSTATT, mfk. "Beloved boys and girls, the missionaries of the Rosary Campaign of Goya are with you. We walk with you to this encounter with Jesus, His Mother and all the Church with our heart shrines. May the Blessed Mother cover each one of you with her divine mantle and make your young smiles a song of hope for this world that needs so many of you!" writes Ines Petiti, leader of the Campaign in Goya, Argentina, to the youth who are in Schoenstatt. With her prayer, her desire to be close to them, and with a holy pride, the Schoenstatt family accompanies the youth that arrived for the International Festival in preparation for the World Youth Day. On Saturday, a German newspaper reported with astonishment and stuporabout the multitude of youth that will soon flood Germany nicknaming them God’s million. Some seven thousand youth of those million will go through Schoenstatt. As of now, some 2,500 youth from the Movement have arrived, accompanied by all the Family with their prayers and via internet.

"What great joy our Father will have when he contemplates his "This wonderland radiantly lit by Tabor’s sun" (Heavenwards, p.159) full of songs, projects, noble gazes, laughter and filial astonishment", writes Maria Teresa Martina, from City Bell, Argentina, whose daughter is part of the group that arrived to Schoenstatt on Saturday afternoon.

"On radio, A.M, L.T.6 at 1:00 p.m., during the Blessed Mother’s program we shared the program for the Festival of Youth in Schoenstatt. Since it is the Day of the Transfiguration of the Lord, we read the paragraph of the Founding Document in which Father reminded the young boys of Saint Peter’s joy when he contemplated the glory of God on Tabor, he shared his "secret idea": to convert this place into a place of pilgrimage, into a place of grace. Words that were so inspired by the Holy Spirit! Well just imagine how many youth are in this place, truly that event of the 18th of 1914 is renewed there today – just as in so many places every day –becoming that divine truth "and perhaps further"…that Father expressed to the young boys on that day, that today is a reality of the Blessed Mother and her Son.

How marvelous that so many youth are enjoying all the glory of Tabor in this little piece of heaven that God gave all of humanity through the hands of Mary and Father Kentenich,

The Covenant of Love in the Original Shrine was so beautiful. I think that everyone who heard us on the radio wanted their names to be on the pieces of paper that were in the glass Shrine, where all who wanted to join in the Covenant could be present. What beautiful work by so many Schoenstatt youth, what nice, warm young people who work for the Church. May the Blessed Mother continue to guide them! How much joy, how much laughter must surround the MTA with all those young Schoenstatt hearts attracted by her, on the way toward her Son, like the Three Kings. We unite ourselves to so many young people who arrived in Cologne in search of Jesus and we heartily accompany them.

"From the Shrine of Rosario, Argentina, we remain spiritually present," writes Father Dario. Father Antonio Cosp, Director of the Movement of Paraguay, writes, "I pray for the Festival of Youth and their contact with the German society."

The family greets her Youth!

As soon the first photos were seen and the first "sounds of Schoenstatt" were heard. Spontaneously, greetings from the Schoenstatt Family arrived, transmitted on the meeting or via email.

From San Fernando, Chile, Nicolas Cura writes: "An affectionate greeting to all the Schoenstatt group, especially the ones from San Fernando, Chile, who departed for the World Youth Day on Wednesday, the 4th of August. May this experience fill their hearts with joy and make them grow as persons. I also want to greet my brother Matias Cruz from a distance.

"From Argentina we accompany you strongly united in prayer! Especially from the Shrine of Solidarity (Villa Warcalde ) and the Shrine of Life and Hope (Cerro Las Rosasa), we accompany our beloved young people from Cordoba, who have strived so hard to be in Cologne, along with the Chain of Hope for the whole world: the Youth. We will be with you! We will be part of the John Paul II mural –THE GREAT! We will unite ourselves with Benedict XVI during this first contact with the youth!" Juan Barbosa writes.

"Greetings to all the youth that are participating in the Festival, specially Maria Fernanda and Jose Tomas. Thanks and congratulations to all who worked so that this festival could become a reality", writes the Perez Bascunan Family from San Fernando, Chile.

"Dear Girls!!! !Lili, Martita, Elizabeth – from Trujillo, we accompany you with our prayers…and with great joy that you are representing the Schoenstatt Girls’ Youth!!! Please, take good care of yourselves and enjoy all this experience to the maximum, take all the petitions from Trujillo, we miss you – The girls from Trujillo!!!"

They departed

"Today the girls, Victoria and Lucia departed, says Tita Rios, from Parana. "We are very happy with all the blessing of God, for having a great family like Schoenstatt". And Lizzie Loetz, from La Paz, Bolivia, comments: "Last night three boys from La Paz, Bolivia arrived to Frankfurt. After some mishaps with lost baggage, they set out for Vallendar early today. The are excited to arrive to the place of grace and to participate in the encounter."

How Iwish I were in Schoenstatt with them

"It makes one want to participate in World Youth Day and above all of being in Schoenstatt", writes Carlos Cantu, from La Feria, Texas, after translating the article about the program of activities, offering himself to continue translating the encounter of the youth.

"It was impressive to see so many youth who are devoted to the Blessed Mother, may they have a good time, comments Ida Aleman, from Panama.

What a joy to know about "our children"

Some girls from Rancagua, Chile, brought packages of the magazine Vinculo with all the talks of John Paul II to the Schoenstatt Family to sell them in Schoenstatt. Each one carried a package in their suitcase. In reference to this, Octavio Galarce Barrera, the editor of the magazine, from Rancagua: I do not know if this has anything to do, but several girls from Rancagua appear in photos and they give opinion in the article that was published in sch.de today: I believe we can change the world. The parents and those of us who knowthem were very happy about this article. Thank You!" Happy about the safe arrival of the magazine, it is worth clarifying that the author of that article did not know that they had brought the magazines!

"Thank you for the news and the photos, we are all participating in this experience together. From here, southern Chile, we follow the events and we pray daily in our Home Shrine, so that this marvelous encounter for the youth will mark their lives close to the Blessed Mother. Our daughter is there participating, and we are participating with her, very united close to the Blessed Mother, shares, Maximiliano Silva Baeza, from Valdivia, Chile..

Julia Gutierrez, from San Fernando Chile, says: "Thank you Blessed Mother, on the 3rd of August of last year I was on Schoenstatt grounds, where I experienced a marvelous encounter with God, and on the 3rd of August of this year my daughter is leaving for Germany to attend the Youth Festival in Schoenstatt and then the World Youth Day in Cologne. Blessed Mother, protect her under your mantle and give her graces".

Joy and sadness

Along with the joy, there is also the sorrow of not participating – for lack of money, or for lack of a visa, as is the case of some young boys from Peru and the two missionaries from Senegal. Patricia Schelstraete, writes, from Cordoba, where the Pilgrim MTA departed to Senegal: "Paul Mendy and the other missionary from Senegal are always in my prayers. I carry them in my heart as "spiritual sons" and I am sure that, as Father used to say: the measure of desire is the measure of grace. It was such a great desire to share in this Journey of Youth, that surely the Blessed Mother will work so that at least one of them will be able to participate."

Their sacrifice and that of many others, undoubtedly, will make World Youth Day and the Encounter in Schoenstatt more fruitful.
