WYD-SCHOENSTATT The International Schoenstatt Youth Festival officially ended on a cold night, but one that was full of joy, rhythm and messages. Now the youth have the mission of taking the light of the Covenant of Love to Cologne and in that way transmit it to the world. At the end of the event Father Heindrich Walter said: "We are sad in Schoenstatt because they left, but we are going to think about and pray for each one of you"

After a journey that inflamed the young hearts through the concrete apostolic examples and above all by the experience of the Covenant of Love for all the youth of the World, everything was ready for the last night, the night of the Three Kings.

It is my land!

At the beginning you could see the typical costumes of the participating countries in the bleachers and there was a festive mood all around. One of the most significant things of the night was the prayer prepared by the Spanish delegation. The Home Song from Heavenwards was read with animation in the background. This prayer took on a special meaning because of everything that was experienced during these days of the festival. Although it was cold, the audience listened carefully as the prayer was read.

The Kings of Internationality, of joy, and spirituality

This night was marked by the arrival of the Kings o Internationality, of joy and the spirituality, which became the main characteristics of all the festival. The international spirit and the joy were present again with the dances presented by Spain, Chile, Mexico, Brazil and Germany who captivated all the audience.

The presence of the "heinzelmannchen" was part of the closing ceremony. These are characters of a legend from Cologne; it is said that they are they are very hard workers and they do the work of others during the night, when no one can see them. In this way the volunteers wanted to represent the feeling of the giving of themselves and of the time they spent working on all the preparation for the festival.

To Cologne!

Father Heinrich Walter presented the closing talk, which was more of a dialogue with the youth than a talk, which ended with a promise "we in Schoenstatt are sad for your departure, but we will think about you and pray for each one of you". The final blessing was imparted by all the priests who were present.

The festival could not end without thanking Sister Johanna Maria, Father Duncan McVicar, Daniel Groeber and Martina Kraus for their outstanding work and their giving of self for the preparation of the festival.

Fireworks reflected the exhiliaration that they all felt at the end of the Schoenstatt Festival of Youth, that was a success. Not they are ready to depart for Cologne to pass on the light that have received.
