Who Will Carry the Flags?

Echoes from the "festival" in Argentina…..and in all Schoenstatters

Juventud de la Mater

Youth of the MTA

Fuego de su fuego

Fire of his fire

Feuer von seinem Feuer

Alma de su alma

Spirit of his Spirit

Geist von seinem Geist

Eres grito y voz en la tempestad

You are cry and voice in the torments

Du bist Ruf und Stimme in den Stürmen

Eres fuego que no lleva al sol

You are fire that carries us to the sun

Du bist Feuer, das zur Sonne hebt

...y nos urge al mundo encender!

...and urges us to incite the world!

…und uns drängt; Entzündet die Welt!

WYD – SCHOENSTATT. Just as all of Schoenstatt was transformed during these past days into a great and unique "Youth Festival", infected with the vitality…..enthusiasm…..and ardor of the youths of the Movement, this same spirit crossed borders and oceans becoming an echo in the hearts of many Schoenstatters. These were very grateful and sent their personal testimonies. This is the case of Daniel and María Teresa Martino, Leaders of the Family Federation in Argentina and first Councillors of the recently founded International Family Federation: "To be able to follow each moment of the festival and to allow that the earthquake of Graces from Schoenstatt also touch our lives has been an absolute privilege, a gift from God."

Following, they resent the message "with which they arrived at our Apostolic Federation of Families in Argentina."

Today in the Original Shrine!!!!!

Dear Federation Brothers and Sisters: be sure to OPEN TODAY THE INTERNET WEBPAGE www.schoenstatt.de . I must confess that I shed joyful tears and that I feel infinitely grateful for being able to live at home the miracle which is taking place in Schoenstatt.

Our renewed efforts to build families on fire by ideals…..to broadcast our love for Schoenstatt…..our daily crusade for conquering a style of life impregnated with values…..the determination to reach for the highest amidst a culture hostile to ideals and arid for that which is religious…..does not always receive motivation and hope.

We are always nagged by the question: Who will carry the flags? Who will receive the torch lit by the holy fire of Father’s Charism? How will we be able to motivate the minds and the hearts of the generations which follow us to give their YES totally to forge God’s World when they become adults? How will Blessed Mother move the post-modern hearts of our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends of our children, our students, the countless children and youths who will be the true main characters of the culture of the Third Millennium?

"Do not worry, we will bring the flag. The flag returns triumphant!"

Open the webpage! Let us treat ourselves…..those of us who go to battle for the Covenant of Love in daily life…..from the intimate and "sometimes explosive" spaces of our Homeshrines…..let us rejoice in this brightness from Heaven which has flooded our original Schoenstatt and that like a seal of fire will return to each country in the vitality and enthusiasm of the young people present there…..they will not be able to meet themselves anew in their world indifferent to the call of Love which they have received.

A new Covenant cuts through the horizon of the new millennium and a new guarantee of the heroes of Schoenstatt once again creates life in our dear Youth!

Many may think that those of us who have children there may be more moved. That is possible, but in this mysterious and marvelous world of the Treasury of Grace, of the Communion of the Saints, of the entire Schoenstatt Family, we may recognize in these youths the "children of all" who tell us:

"Do not worry, we bring the flag. The flag returns triumphant!"
