The candle lit by John PozzobonJourney of the Rosary Campaign in Tucuman, Argentina: An ardent mission for the transformation of the world |
ARGENTINA, Silvia Losada. The Rosary Campaign of Tucuman held their Journey 2005, in preparation for the renewal of the missionaries’ commitment. It was a day of encounters and exchanges, and everyone was enriched. Father Daniel Nieva remembered John Pozzobon, the initiator of the Campaign, who lit the first candle, that began to illuminate his native Brazil, and which he continued to maintain until his death. But his mission needed other lights that would help him to illuminate the world. And Father Esteban Uriburu was the one who was in charge of lighting them. Like the Saint Paul of the campaign, with his will, energy and untiring spirit of struggle, he took many Pilgrim MTA’s, planting a love for this mission, that Mary had entrusted to us, in the hearts of many. This is the light of Christ, I will make it shineOn this day of Journey and reflection, the missionaries were sent forth anew, and they chose to continue taking this flame that they lit on the day of their commissioning, through the roads of the nation, consoling, evangelizing, with Mary, who opens doors and hearts in all the homes. "We proclaim and we assume our ideal, we commit ourselves, united in joy and service, to be instruments of Mary, because She will give us Divine Strength. She is the great sign, the victress. She will lead us to assume our mission consciousness, she educates us, unites us, she makes us a family, a family that is ready for the fight and for victory", they prayed during the commissioning ceremony. "This is the light of Christ, I will make it shine…"they sang with emotion and commitment to continue working for the Kingdom of God, ready to transform the world, through Mary, our Queen; to be the light that will dissipate clouds of ignorance and of error, so that truth will emerge. To be a warm light, full of love, that inflames life everywhere, just like the sun." Translation: Celina M Garza, Harlingen, TX, USA |
