It is called the most beautiful ruin of Western Germany, the “crown juwel” of Lippstadt

Man nennt sie die schönste Kirchenruine Weltdeutschlands, das Kronjuwel von Lippstadt

GERMANY, MKF. "Thank you for such a beautiful report about the illuminated rosary in the ruins of the convent! I was very happy to hear it! Thanks also to Argentina, where it was "invented" and thanks to schoenstatt.de, we found the illuminated rosary!, wrote Martina Rasch, of the professional women’s branch from northern Germany. Elke Redeker, from Lippstadt, learned about the illuminated rosary in this branch and with her group of ladies from the parish she prayed in the ruins of the convent…where no one had prayed for ten years.

"For many years I prepared a time of Marian prayer ("the way of Mary") once a year for a group of ladies from the parish to which I belong", wrote Elke Redeker, who, as she says, I received the strength to commit to this parochial pastoral from Schoenstatt. "This year we had the opportunity to go to "our" convent in ruins. These are the ruins of an old convent of Augustine Sisters, located in the middle of the city, in a magnificent park. This place has a fantastic atmosphere, it is something incredible!"

The whole range of needs and sorrows...

The ladies immediately accepted the idea to pray the illuminated rosary at that place. At the beginning, Elke Redeker explained that for each Hail Mary of the rosary a candle would be lighted, placing a rose by the candle and they could pray for an intention aloud or in the silence of their heart.

"The ladies had different intentions fro each situation of life (Kindergarten, pleas for employment for their children, gratitude for the health of a child, gratitude for the help received from the priests. No one was forced to speak, they could also simply light a candle, place the rose and then pray the Hail Mary in community.

It was a very special afternoon, in a very special place, with a very special atmosphere

"When we finished, the "caretaker", who had been observing us discreetly from a distance, approached us. He was very enthused and he asked us to do this again next year! He thought it was marvelous that prayer was resumed in this place. The last time there had been prayer at this place was ten years ago. As I mentioned previously, we are speaking about the ruins of a convent.

That night was very motivating for all of us, afterwards we were only somewhat frozen .

It was also marvelous that a friend of mine accompanied me that afternoon. Without planning it, she had made some candles in the shape of a rose to give each of the participants as a souvenir of this afternoon.

She also read the text of a modern German song: "A woman goes through the street…"

that we had presented some years ago as a remembrance of the hour of Marian prayer. She said she always reads this text and that it is very meaningful to her.

"It truly was a very special afternoon, in a place that was also special and with a very special atmosphere!

"Thousand thanks to the branch of professionals from northern Germany, in which I learned to pray the illuminated rosary!"

June 11th in Schoenstatt: for World Youth Day, for peace in the society of Bolivia, for all the unemployed

"On the 11th of June we will pray an illuminated rosary in the Adoration Church in Schoenstatt at 3:00 p.m. We will gladly add all the intentions of the illuminated rosary that was prayed in Lippstadt so that they will truly be fruitful", writes Martina. From one illuminated rosary to another - from Lippstadt to Schoenstatt, from Schoenstatt to Asuncion, to Tucuman, to Buenos Aires, to Purley…the stream of prayer and graces flow for World Youth Day, for Bolivia, for the unemployed, for the sick, returning to all who are incorporated in the current of the illuminated rosary, in this "crown of living roses", as Father Kentenich would say when he spoke about the rosary.
