USA, Enrique Soros. The Schoenstatt Family in the Washington, DC area has met for many years in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, close to downtown DC.  Meetings were held every Thursday from 7 to 9 pm in a neighborhood where the Pilgrim MTA visits families and stores.  There are about a hundred images on pilgrimage.  The Schoenstatt people have been meeting in the  basement of a building that they borrowed for 2 hours each week.  There were no bathrooms and they had some other inconveniences.  But they were so happy to have a place where they could enjoy those meetings. However, they were longing for a place that belongs to them...

Francisca, one of the family members from El Salvador, has been renting a beauty salon in Washington.  All the while Francisca has been longing to buy her own shop.  Suddenly, she discovered that a three-floor house across the street was on sale.  Francisca immediately dreamed about buying the house.  She knew that the basement would make a perfect hair salon, and the other two floors could be used as rental apartments.  The  income from the rentals would pay the mortgage.

Knowing how extremely generous Francisca is and how she loves the Blessed Mother, someone asked her:  "Have you thought of giving the Blessed Mother a space in the house, for the Schoenstatt Family?"  Francisca answered: "Of course! A whole floor for her!"

This is our home now

The seller has made the commitment to sell the house to Francisca, but there were so many difficulties.  Negotiations lasted for more than 6 months.   At last, Francisca was able to buy the house, and the Blessed Mother has a place to show her daughters and sons her love!

So to pay the mortgage Francisca will use the basement for the beauty salon, and the other two floors she will rent as follows: the 3rd. floor to a family, and the 2nd to the Blessed Mother!!!  The Blessed Mother will personally pay the rent!

The Schoenstatt Family in Washington, DC knows this is a result of the Capital of Grace.  Now we have a place for the MTA, for the Sisters and Fathers, and for our Schoenstatt meetings.

Beginning Thursday 28 April 2005, Schoenstatt meetings will be all Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm at this location!  It's 5 blocks away from Columbia Hights metro station, Green line. Come today to join us for the first meeting!!
