Follow me. Christ carrying the Cross, Christ in his Easter victoryFrom Shrine to Shrine: "Crusade of the New Man" in Parana, Brazil |
BRAZIL, Daniel Ventura Rocha. Follow me. The word of vocation, the word of leaving and loving, is a word that fits well for the annual pilgrimage of the Schoenstatt Boys` Youth of Parana in Southern Brazil. A pilgrimage that took place already almost a month ago during Holy Week, but that is still alive in the memories and the daily life of the participants. During Holy Week, as it is usual in the life of the branch in the state of Parana, Brazil, many have long awaited pilgrimage of the Boys` Youth that goes from Londrina to Cornelio Procopio, in southern Brazil. In both towns there are Schoenstatt Shrines and the pilgrims have walked from one Shrine to the other. This pilgrimage, or crusade of the new man as it is called in Brazil, has as its aim the integration of the youth who belong to the Boys` branch, but another aim is to have some contact with Christ who suffers and resurrects in our midst. Together with the liturgy of Holy Week, during the three days of pilgrimage, the pilgrims worked out the theme of January 20th and saw that our Founder was an image of Christ who carried his cross and took the Schoenstatt Family to the love of the Christ who suffers, but also to the Christ who is victorious out of the deepest battles. A total of around 100 young men came to participate on the pilgrimage from different towns in the state of Parana where the branch of the young men exist. Remembering the time that Father Kentenich spent in DachauThe Holy Thursday Mass with the washing of the feet was a wonderful moment. The adoration of the Cross touched the hearts of many and the Easter Mass was a moment of great joy for all who took part of this pilgrimage. One of the best moments of the pilgrimage was the personal Way of the Cross; each member made his own way of the cross, remembering specially the time that our Father and Founder spent in the concentration camp in Dachau. At the end of the pilgrimage, everyone bent down on their knees and consecrated themselves to the Blessed Mother, putting in her hands contributions to the capital of grace for the Schoenstatt Youth in Paraná, in Brazil, and in the whole world. |
