CHILE, Hernan Macaya, "Reserve your tickets for November 12, 2005!" The Schoenstatt Family of San Fernando, Chile, invites all Schoenstatters throughout the world to participate - physically or spiritually - for the blessing of their long awaited Shrine, its construction began in January.

On January 18th after the Holy Mass for Covenant Day, the members of the Schoenstatt Family of San Fernando gathered around the excavation of the future Shrine to bury letters and envelopes with many prayers. They thanked the Blessed Mother, they also wrote they yearnings and petitions and

like good Schoenstatters they offered sacrifices, things that are hard to undertake and what they want to overcome.

Children buried their drawings and what they had dictated to their parents. It was a very exciting afternoon in which all the dreams and offerings remained in the foundation of the Shrine. Additionally, several meaningful elements of the Movement were buried: soil, little stones, and bark from the Original Shrine, from Dachau, from the Shrine in Bellavista, from Rome and the Vatican. Father Horacio Rivas, Father Mauricio Cox, who left for Africa, Father Luis Munoz, who works at the Vatican, and Sister Mary Carmen participated in the ceremony.

Construction began on that day and it will continue until the bell is hung.

At the beginning of February the foundation and the steel stuctures for the walls were ready.
