April 4, 2004:Berlin: Arrival of the World Youth Day Cross and the Icon of Mary in GermanyOn April 4, the World Youth Day Cross arrives in Germany to begin the pilgrimage through the German dioceses. The Holy Mass will be broadcast by the German TV station ZDF. Celebrants will be: the Apostolic Nuncio to Germany, Archbishop Ender; Cardinal Sterzinsky of Berlin and the President of the Youth Committee of the German Bishops' Conference, Bishop Bode. More than 1,000 youth from all over Germany have been admitted to the event. In Schoenstatt, the Schoenstatt Youth organizes a Holy Mass at 10.30 AM in the Pilgrims' Church to spiritually join in the arrival of the World Youth Day Cross. For the German Schoenstatt Youth, this is the beginning of their accompanying the pilgrimage of the World Youth Day Cross, culminating in the arrival of the Cross in Schoenstatt for the October Week; October 15 through 17, 2004, Cross and Icon will be in Schoenstatt, a mile stone on the way to the World Youth Day in Cologne. April 6, 2004Fourhundred years of the titel "Mater ter admirabilis"On Tuesday, April 6, it's 400 years of the title "Mater ter admirabilis". On Tuesday of Holy Week, April 6, 1604, Jesuit Father Jacob Rem, from Ingolstadt, in a vision learned that Mary most loves the title "Mater admirables", Mother admirable. The invocation was repeated thrice, as a response, leading to the title "Mother Thrice admirable". Schoenstatt at the beginning of its history adapted the idea of the Father Rem's Marian Circles that set out to renew faith in Bavaria, but also the title: Mater ter admirabilis. Today, especially thanks to the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign of John Pozzobon, the Schoenstatt picture of grace, with this title, is copied and venerated in million all over the world. The anniversary will be commemorated on April 12, in a festive Mass in Ingolstadt, with Bishop Mixa, and with a Mass in the Original Shrine on April 6.
April 18, 2004 - Covenant DayBrazil: Dedication of the Schoenstatt Shrine in GaranhunsThe 21st Schoenstatt Shrine of Brazil will be dedicated come April 18 in Garanhuns, State of Pernambuco, in Northeastern Brazil. After years of longing, striving, building and offering contributions to the capital of grace, the local Schoenstatt family together with Bishop Irineu Roque Scherer will ask the Blessed Mother to join this Shrine to the stream of life and grace welling from the Original Shrine since October 18, 1914, and to enrich this streams with the graces from this "Shrine of every day sanctity".
April 28 - May 2, 2004Schoenstatt: European Family CongressIn view of the challenges and chances of a unified Europe, the Schoenstatt Family Movement offers a European Marriage and Family Congress that will culminate in a European Family Day with participation of personalities from church and society. Families from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary, and other countries, countribute workshops and talks "from families for families." |
