Philippines: Dedication of the First Schoenstatt Shrine on the Philippines

On July 20, the first Schoenstatt Shrine on the Philippines will be dedicated. It is situated near Cebu City. Cardinal Ricardo Vidal will be the main celebrant and dedicate the Shrine. The Philippines are the second country in Asia to count with a Schoenstatt Shrine. A group of pilgrims from the USA will participate in the festivity. From the USA, already at the end of the eighties, a first picture of the Pilgrim Mother came to the Philippines - the beginning of Schoenstatt there. Today, the Pilgrim Mother is visiting the islands of the Philippines in far over 6,000 pictures, preparing the way for Schoenstatt in the parishes and dioceses.

Father Kentenich already spoke about a Shrine on the Philippines and gave ideas about the mission of this Shrine.
