GERMANY, Etzold/Schredl/Förster. The Schoenstatt family at the "Canisiushof" Schoenstatt Center in Kösching near Ingolstadt is preparing for a special 400th anniversary in 2003: the anniversary of the title of the Schoenstatt picture of grace, "Mater ter admirabilis", Mother Thrice Admirable.

The 6th April 2004 is the 400th annual celebration remembering when Mary revealed her preferred title of 'Mater ter Admirabilis' (Mother Thrice Admirable) to the Jesuit Fr Jakob Rem in the Colloqium Marianum in Ingolstadt.

The title 'Mater ter Admirabilis' was given to the picture of grace in the Inglostadt Muenster.  This is a copy of the picture of grace "salus Populi Romani".  The original can be found in St Mary Major in Rome.

The 6th of April 2004 falls on the Tuesday of Holy week - as it did 400 years ago

In 1915 the Marian Congregation at Schoenstatt saw itself as a second Ingolstadt Congregation.  The 'Ingolstadt/Schoenstatt Parallel' motto was an inspiration for many members of the young Schoenstatt Community.  When they received the gift of a Marian picture for their assembly area in the Schoenstatt shrine they gave it the Ingolstadt title - 'Mother Thrice Admirable'.

The Schoenstatt family on the Canisiushof is preparing itself for the 400th jubilee  by way of a Commemorative year.

From the Ingolstadt/Schoenstatt Parallel shrine we are inviting everyone across the world to celebrate the Jubilee with us.  The invitation invites you to visit the Ingolstadt/Schoenstatt Parallel shrine near the Dachau Concentration Camp.  The 6th of April 2004 falls on the Tuesday of Holy week exactly as it did 400 years ago.

A pilgrimage to the Ingolstadt Cathedral

The jubilee year opened on the 6th of April 2003 in the diocese of Eichstatt at a well attended gathering of the family on the Canisiushof near Ingolstadt.Fr Bernard Schneider gave a very perceptive talk with practical examples for this year's motto: "Family: Love sees more."  During the afternoon Fr Reinhard Foerster was elected as the new leader of the families by Fr Blasius Meixner in his position as Chairperson.

The service started off at the Parallel Shrine and everyone processed to the Scheunen Kirche (The Barn Church).  At the end of the service the  first Wayside shrine to be erected on the Canisius Hof was blessed.  It had recently been renovated and moved to a new location.

During Holy Week on Tuesday April 15th 2003 the Eichstatt Schoenstatt family made a pilgrimage from the Canisuishof to the Inglostadt Muenster.  The intention was to highlight the Ingolstadt/Schoenstatt Parallel and the Commemoration Year  The groups started at the Parallel Shrine at 3.00pm and finished at the Ingolstadt Muenster at 7.00 pm with a festive service.

The emblem of the Schoenstatt members in the Parallel shrine is as sign of the unity similar to the pupils of Fr Rem in relation to Fr Kentenich's sodality members,
