Apostolic Projects, Congresses, Initiatives…GERMANY: January 23Initiative for the Protection of Human Embryos: 75,000 signatures to be passed onThe representatives of the Focolar Movement, Bread of Life, and Schoenstatt who in June 2001 launched the collection of signatures for the unconditioned protection of Human Embryos - against stem cell consuming research -, will come to an end with over 73,000 signatures to be passed on to responsible politicians of the government and German parliament.
GERMANY: May 21 -24Congress on Pastoral: "Shift of Perspective in the Pastoral: Finding Footsteps"The head of the German Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Lehmann, will give the main talk on the Congress on Pastoral that Schoenstatt offers for parish priests, deacons, chaplains, and all lay persons who work in parishes or pastoral projects. The Practical Faith in Divine Providence, one of the pillars of Schoenstatt's spirituality is to be presented in the practical way finding God's footsteps as a means of a new pastoral to form persons from within.

Schoenstatt Process of Canonization…GERMANY: February 26Process for Sr. Emilie Engel completed on diocesan levelOn February 26, 2002, a solemn Holy Mass in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Trier will mark the completion of the first phase of the process of beatification for Emilie Engel, Schoenstatt Sister of Mary. On the level of the diocese, the process will come to an end with this day. All testimonies have been collected; the next step will then be the passing on of the acts to the Congregation for Canonization, in Rome.
New Shrines…ARGENTINA: May 18Belén de EscobarThe Shrine is built by the Ladies of Schoenstatt near Escobar, about 50 km north of Buenos Aires, in the diocese of Zárate-Campana. AUSTRIA: June 15Upper Austria – tentative place for a future ShrineThe Upper Austrian Schoenstatt family received the altar of a Shrine built by the Pallottines in Vienna in 1959; the Shrine has not been used in years. All but the MTA picture was in perfext condition; all that the Upper Austrian Schoenstatt Movement already had for their future Shrine was – an MTA picture. On June 15, the altar will be erected in a tentative place. ARGENTINA: August 31Centro Padre Kentenich, CórdobaThe whole diocesan family of Córdoba, Argentina, joins in the spiritual and material conquering of the new Shrine by the Centro Padre Kentenich, the Schoenstatt Center in the city of Córdoba. MÉXICO:MonterreyThe groundbreaking ceremony was on December 16, 2001. The Schoenstatt family of Monterrey in Northern Mexico hopes to complete the Shrine during this year.
50th and 25th Annversaries…ARGENTINA: January 2050th Anniversary of the National ShrineOn January 20, 1952, Father Kentenich blessed the first Schoenstatt Shrine on Argentine soil. It is the only one in Argentina blessed by him. As a gift for the anniversary and as a sign for assuming the mission of this Shrine – the Shrine of the Father -, the entire Movement will seal the Covenant with Father Kentenich. The new Father Kentenich statue is the symbol for this gift. GERMANY: June 2950th Anniversary of the Liebfrauenhöhe ShrineLife with you – with this motto, the Schoenstatt Movement of the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diocesan Shrine at the Liebfrauenhöhe Center, the "Co-Founder Shrine", that was blessed on May 1, 1952. USA:50 years of the Arrival of Father Kentenich in MilwaukeeMilwaukee 2002 – your gift our mission: This motto of the Schoenstatt Movement of the USA also marks the celebrations around the golden anniversary of Father Kentenich's arrival in Milwaukee, USA, in June 1952. He was to stay there for 14 years of Exile that became fruitful, among others, in the current of the home shrines, and in what he called "the new image of the Father, Child, and Community".
