Christmas Hope

Jesus came into poverty, and rejection, and he came as a child.
As wars, insecurity, violence, terror, sorrows and fears
Cast a shadow on Christmas 2001,
We are maybe allowed to reach the center:

Christmas, God with us, and this God is LOVE.
Love is stronger.
Christmas hope is not rooted in
Economical, political, or moral change,
As important as all that may be,
But only in God and in his love,
In Mary and in the Child in the crib:
That the Light of Christmas may illuminate all darkness of time,
"so that we may see life as God sees it and always walk by Heaven's Light" (J.K.)
