  Parts of the woodwork that are still intact will remain. The bell is still in the bell tower.
16.11.2001: Alte, gut erhaltene Balken werden belassen. Noch hängt das alte Glöckchen im Turm.

15.11.2001: Mit neuen Schindeln aus Rheinischem Schiefer wird das Dach eingedeckt. Die Arbeiten werden durch die Witterung (Reif und Eis) beeinflusst.

While the roof is being worked on, the surrounding streets get new marks to prevent obstructions around the Shrine
Während am Dach gearbeitet wird, werden auf der Straße zum Urheiligtum neue Markierungen auf der Fahrbahn aufgespritzt, um dem "wilden Parken" zu begegnen.

Eingerüstet und unter Planen "immer noch so schön", schrieb eine Südamerikanerin, die die Fotos im Internet sah

  The Original Shrine will get a new bell. Workers from the bell foundry testing the sound of the old bell to make an exact match with the new bell.
10.11.2001: Das Urheiligtum wird ein neues Glöckchen erhalten. Mitarbeiter der Glockengieserei messen den Glockenklang, damit die neue Glocke möglichst einen ähnlichen Ton bekommt wie die alte.

5.11.2001: Vor dem Urheiligtum stapeln sich Kisten mit den neuen Schieferschindeln
 

The woodwork of the apse was completely rotten amd had to be removed.
Am stärksten beschädigt sind die Balken der Apsis.

5.11.2001: Die Arbeiten am Dach des Urheiligtums haben begonnen.
  Old, rotten timbers had to be removed; a protective covering keeps out the rain.
Alte, morsche Dachbalken wurden entfernt. Das Dach ist mit Folie geschützt, bis die neuen Balken und die Dachlattung ausgeführt werden können.
