(mkf) Following the inspiration of many Schoenstatt members in Schoenstatt and all over the world, an "avalanche" of solidarity prayer with the victims of the terror attacks in the United States was initiated on September 11. In Schoenstatt, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, spiritually joined in by many persons from other places, took place. On Thursday, September 13, Father Dr. Michael Joh. Marmann will preside over a Memorial Service in the Adoration Church for the victims of the attack.

In the Shrine by House Marienland, on Mount Schoenstatt, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament began at 9:00PM for the victims of the attacks, their relatives and friends, for the politicians in charge of decisions, the people who try to help, and for all who now are in fear. The Adoration Sisters in Schoenstatt and others also held adoration during night.

Trusting in the Mother Thrice Admirable

"We cannot do anything put place all this pain and fear in the hands of the Blessed Mother," said one Schoenstatt member on the phone. "But this we do. We can bring our prayer, and we can bring the Blessed Mother and her love, consolation and care." In New York, the Blessed Mother is present in the Schoenstatt Shrine in Staten Island, the Shrine of Light. As Pilgrim Mother she is present there and in all the places hit; a source of confidence and trust and at the same time inspiration for extended prayer.

From all over the world, e-mails and notes on the "Virtual Schoenstatt Meeting" bear witness of the Schoenstatt prayer solidarity: in Argentina and Austria, Australia and Germany, Brazil and Mexico, Schoenstatt members united in prayer with the victims of the attack and the American people. A big number of American Schoenstatt members expressed their gratitude for the solidarity in these moments.

Prayer in the Shrines - Eucharistic Adoration and Mass in Schoenstatt

From his vacation, Fr Beller, director of the German Schoenstatt Movement, encouraged all to unite for prayer times in the Shrines and home shrines and to invite others to join in. On Thursday, September 13, Father Dr. Michael Joh. Marmann, chairperson of the General Presidium of the International Schoenstatt Movement, will preside over a Memorial Holy Mass in the Adoration Church, Mount Schoenstatt, at 7:00 PM. From 7:00 AM, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in the Church for the victims of the attack and all who are affected by this terrorist act.
