Archbishop Luis Morales Reyes of San Luis Potosí,
Mexico, blessed the land for the future Shrine in San Luis Potosí,
Mexico, on January 7, 2001.
Already since a couple of years, the Schoenstatt family of San Luis Potosí is working for the construction of a Schoenstatt Shrine in their diocese. The MTA picture for this Shrine was blessed on October 18, 1998. With the blessing of the land, and the groundbreaking ceremony on January 7, the actual contruction of the Shrine began, shared Antonio Rosillo of San Luis Potosí. The Schoenstatt family's joy in the participation of the Archbishop was exuberant. The first Schoenstatt Shrine in Mexico is situated in Querétaro; each year, more than 30,000 persons join in the "feast of the Shrine", celebrated on October 18. Another Schoenstatt Shrine was built in Chiapas.
