ARGENTINA, Maria Fischer • There are many ways to remember each year on September 15, the anniversary of Fr. Joseph Kentenich’s death, and this year, it will be in the context of the shocks of the pandemic and a serious questioning of the person of Fr. Kentenich and his family’s relationship with him. It can be done, as always, with Masses, with prayers, with marathons of memories, videos and photos… or, with an Episcopal ordination. By placing the life of a Schoenstatter and thus have a whole Movement at theRead More
GERMANY/ECUADOR, Maria Fischer • “For fifty, almost fifty-one years, Pablo traversed and explored this earth in the fullest sense of the word. It was a journey with many stopping points, many changes, with many joys and, in the last few years, with a great deal of suffering. All of us here today, and many, many others, met Pablo Enrique Pelaez Ronquillo somewhere, or accompanied him for longer or shorter stretches of the way. We could tell  … and we have to tell …” At this point of the homily duringRead More
GERMANY/ ROME BELMONTE, Maria Fischer • “But that’s the same plaque we have in our shrine”, Fr Rolando Gibert Montes de Oca Valero, a member of the Priests’ Federation in Cuba and at present studying communication science in Rome, remarked at the end of the first meeting of the Pastoral Commission of Belmonte when the members of the Commission entered the newly completed chapel in the Casa dell’Alleanza. “In our shrine?” one of his Brazilian confreres asked him. “It is in our shrine on Mount Moriah in Schoenstatt.” “We haveRead More
Fr. Egon M. Zillekens • At the decisive moment no one took a photo. It was good that that was so, because we had to look for and find a photo that possibly expressed better than any other what the decision-makers of the regional Priests’ Federation from Germany, Switzerland, Portugal and the Czech Republic had experienced in the afternoon of 25 October towards the end of their annual regional conference, and what the Priests’ Federation of this territory wants to do in the coming year. The photo shows our ProphetRead More
BURUNDI, From Fr Egon M. Zillekens, Rector • Since 2 August 2016 we have the first members of the Schoenstatt Priests’ Federation in Africa. They entered into the covenant of love in the form of their perpetual consecration in the shrine at Bujumbura, Burundi, after a development lasting eighteen years. On the occasion of this event the International Gathering of the Federation met with delegates of the countries and the leaders at this place – just as they do each year in a different country; this was the eighth time.Read More

GERMANY, from Maria Fischer • “That’s him!” The article that appeared in the Rheinische Post newspaper was as zestful and mischievous as Fr Theo Hoffacker, a member of the Schoenstatt Priests’ Federation, on his 90th birthday. “Heart and soul a priest”, Heinz Kühnen wrote, and that is what Fr Hoffacker is. “The man keeps himself fit: cycling and swimming are simply part of life. In the past he went with his twin brother to sail in the Adriatic, and until a few years ago he regularly went skiing in Switzerland.Read More
