PERU, Jorge Sosa Alonso with Maria Fischer • In Trujillo, more than 60 venerated images from all over northern Peru came together for the visit by Pope Francis. Among them was an image of Our Lady of Schoenstatt. On 19 January, Jorge Sosa Alonso took her to the waterfront esplanade of Huanchaco where the Holy Father celebrated Mass on 20 January and he then took her to the Plaza de Armas Square, where the Marian celebration was held. In preparation for the Pope’s visit, on Wednesday 17 January, a largeRead More
INDIA/ITALY, Maria Fischer with Fr. Simon Donnelly • A few days ago, Fr. Simon Donnelly, a South African Schoenstatt Priest who works in the Vatican, got a Whatsapp message from India with a photo and a few words from an American, Ashley, who is married to an Indian, John, both exemplary Catholics. “They live in Rome but are visiting in-laws in Goa. They know that I am attached to Schoenstatt and so they sent this photo to me from India a couple of days ago,” Fr. Simon shared. And thisRead More
ROME – CUBA, Fr. Rolando Gibert Montes de Oca Valero • I was not aware there was a Marian Jubilee.  I found out about it from a friend’s invitation.  So I thought: the Church wants to give Blessed Mother a gift… but surely she will give us something better, and I began to ask myself what would be the richest gift that Blessed Mother would want to give us… In conjunction with the Jubilee, some friends from the Neo-catechumenal Way invited me to a “Catechetical Symphonic Celebration.”  It was aRead More

BELMONTE, by Fr. Darío Gustavo Gatti, Schoenstatt Institute of Diocesan Priests, Argentina • Dear friends worldwide, brothers/sisters in Covenant… I have lost a runaway Blessed Mother… she is the hidden Queen of Belmonte shown here in these photos. We have lost track of this picture that has been on pilgrimage for a long time throughout the world since 2004. On the occasion of the Blessing of the Shrine of Rome, Belmonte (8 September 2004), and as we walked through Roman streets, the picture destined for the Shrine’s altar was blownRead More
By Editorial Team • “The Jubilee was celebrated again in the Original Shrine expressly during the Covenant celebration in Schoenstatt. 100 years of Mary’s picture!” Two Fackellauf runners on the road from the Pilgrims’ Shrine to the Original Shrine escorted the picture. The Fackellauf continues to live! It was not only a project that ended with the Jubilee in October; but rather, it continues to burn,” the Facebook page of the Fackellauf 2014 runners says. During the Covenant celebration in the Original Shrine on 18 April, once again a littleRead More
From the editorial office • Easter close to the shrine of all of us! It is also “commitment for construction.” From April 2 – 12, young volunteers from Germany spent Easter days in Rome and along with the Reinle Family. They placed 180 square meters of paving stones between the main square and the entrance. Once again Belmonte has been home for these eighteen people. Among the “floor laying” youths there were also four Fackellauf runners. They commented: As Fackellauf runners, Rome pulls us to the heart of the Church.Read More
