Selfies with the Pilgrim Mother

By Maria Fischer •

It is a sunny Saturday unlike most lately at the Original Shrine.  While a group of German pilgrims pass through the Holy Door of the Original Shrine and celebrate their Mass, a large group of young pilgrims approach, and stay on the grounds for almost an hour, in the sun, listening to Sr. Andrea Narvaéz’ explanations.  “Their Mass will be at 3:45 p.m.” Hilde Fellhofer, from Austria, explains. She and her husband Herbert are substituting for the sacristans of the Original Shrine during vacation.  “Today is our first day, and there are six Masses in the Shrine,” she explained.

The young pilgrims from Paraguay are from different Movements, and they are on pilgrimage to several of Europe’s Marian Shrines, one of the youths commented. “Some are also from Schoenstatt.”

Two girls and their Pilgrim Mother patiently are taking a series of selfies with the Original Shrine in the background. These photos are surely already on “pilgrimage” virtually via social networks!
