Help Ecuador: A call to action

SPAIN/ECUADOR, www.ligafamilias.schoenstatt.es

Following the tragedy caused by the earthquake in Ecuador, the professional men’s branch took the initiative to help their brethren in Ecuador, and the Family League, with generosity and with solidarity, provided the means to make it happen.

Marcelo (who will soon travel to Ecuador) is one of the people responsible for this initiative by the men’s branch. This is what they wrote to the entire Schoenstatt Family:

“During this time of great difficulty for the people who suffered directly as a result of the earthquake in Ecuador, we want to invite the Schoenstatt Family in Spain to contribute their small grain of sand. The Men’s branch, therefore, invites all the Branches, groups, and friends of Schoenstatt to contribute to the collection we are organizing with the help of the Family League to raise money to send to Ecuador.

The help will be channelled through Caritas Ecuador. The idea to collect many small contributions to save on transfer costs, so that any donation, no matter how small, will add up to a lot.

This is also a way of showing our responsibility in solidarity with our Covenant brothers in Ecuador, where the Schoenstatt Family has four shrines and a very dynamic covenant life. It is also a way to show solidarity with our covenant brothers in Ecuador who are in our professional men and women’s branches.

IMPORTANT: given that is a timely contribution, please use “AYUDA ECUADOR” [Help Ecuador] as the reference on the transfer.

We thank you very much in advance for your help!”

It is important to pray, to pray a lot, in Spain and throughout the world; but it is just as important to take action at a time when several cities have been completely destroyed and the number of deaths, missing persons, and injured continues to rise.
