In covenant solidarity with the Family Missions in Argentina

ARGENTINA, Francisco Oviedo/mda. The Family Missions of the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement will be carried out from January 20th to 31st, in Villa Bastía, department of Tupungata, Province of Mendoza (from 1-20th to 26th) and in Coronel Pringles, province of Buenos Aires (1-24th to 31st).  A group of couples with their children and other youths will go on mission as a family and for families, sharing the joy that they feel of experiencing God’s love.  During this week, they will dedicate themselves to taking the Word of God and the Virgin to each one of the families of these areas.

As we have done for several years at schoenstatt.org, we extend the petition of those in charge of the Family Missions asking to accompany them in prayer and with capital of grace.

They write:  “This task has been carried out in our nation, Argentina, since 1999.  Since the year 2000, the Family Missions have had the fundamental support of prayer, the prayer of the rosary and daily Mass of people who support us spiritually.  For this reason and because there is no mission without prayer, we ask you to unite with us in the prayer chain for the success and fruitfulness of the Family Missions.  What we ask is for prayer for the Family Missions at a given time of the day, for example the Holy Rosary, participation in the Holy Mass, or to offer something that applies to the capital of grace for the missionaries. At the end of the mission, during night prayer, we will mention everyone who has prayed, within the profound framework of gratitude and spiritual unity.”

Covenant solidarity

This year we invite you to covenant solidarity with the family missions or with the missionaries.  “As Schoenstatters, our way of praying for someone is to live the Covenant with contributions to the capital of grace, that is, in love that is action and service for that person,” explained Father José María García, from Madrid.  “To give and offer the Covenant like the Blessed Mother does with us, with no other interest than that of serving… is our power as her children.”  Covenant solidarity with the missionaries who carry out the family missions during these days means becoming missionary in the concrete sphere of each person “sharing the joy that they feel of experiencing the love of God:” in united prayer, in contributions to the capital of grace and in going out to encounter others to “take the Word of God and the Virgin” to those we encounter…
