In Covenant Solidarity: Our Covenant of Love Does Not Remain Merely an Idea

GERMANY, Barbara Pons. During our last Covenant Sunday the Schoenstatt Family in the diocese of Aachen was gathered in its Missio Patris Shrine. There the idea of the Working Document for 2014 was taken up to renew the covenant of love in its international network and with its missionary formative power. Some of those present explained the project: “Each shrine its house” with great enthusiasm.

The Centre said it would give up the usual collection, and the collection for a house for families in extreme need in Paraguay was larger than usual. We have enough for one and a quarter houses. When we were told the sum while we were having refreshments, one of those present called out spontaneously, “I will add the rest so that we can have two complete houses built. I was the innocent party in an accident and spent a long time in hospital, so I received a corresponding compensation. I will take part of it and contribute towards the completion of the second house.”

So our little Aachen Schoenstatt Family can have two houses in Paraguay built. The Missio Patris Shrine in Puffendorf is joining in as the twenty-fifth shrine with a “House in Solidarity”. The money will be transferred in the next few days.
