Through the Internet, a marathon of prayers for World Youth Day has been organized

SPAIN, AICA. A social network, dedicated to encouraging prayer, has called on all of the world’s faithful to unite in prayer for the success and fruits of World Youth Day (WYD) that will be celebrated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil between July 23-28, 2013. They invite everyone to pray for all the volunteers and WYD organizing teams. “With our prayers, we could help with the intense job that many are doing in the behind the scenes preparatory work”.

May feelings – the network that prays

Mayfeelings.com is an initiative started by three young Spanish youths between the ages of twenty-seven to thirty, with the backing of the Archdiocese of Madrid and the support of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.

Pray!

The method is simple: Since Mayfeelings attempts to move thousands of people to pray, those who wish to help can unite themselves to the cause in mayfeelings.com/JMJRIO2013. Upon entering the site, you list your prayer intention and add it to the group of prayers by clicking the Pray button. One can also join in the prayers of particular intentions for other people.

Another way of collaborating is to be the godfather/godmother of a World Youth Day volunteer and pray for him/her daily. One can also see on a map, in real time, the people who are actually praying and from where they are doing it. “It doesn’t take much time. In a few minutes, one can help by joining their prayers to the sum total,” explained the organizers.
