Apostles for a Network of Christian Homes

AUSTRIA, Martin Schiffl via schoenstatt.at •

When there is “full house” in the Formation Centre on the Kahlenberg, Vienna, and Auxiliary Bishop Franz Charl is sending out four couples as family trainers, there is a mission celebration. The fifteenth course of the Academy for Family Pedagogy at Schoenstatt am Kahlenberg, Vienna, has come to a glorious conclusion.—

The couples have successfully completed the two-year formation as family trainers and are now ready to work for the Church and society. It was a great joy for Auxiliary Bishop Franz Scharl, as the Church representative, to had out to the successful candidates the diplomas that had been signed by the Family Bishop and Archbishop of Salzburg Franz Lackner.

Before the commissioning Holy Mass the new family trainers presented their favourite subjects to the people who were present. Auxiliary Bishop Scharl was visibly enthusiastic and described the couples as “special editions”. In his homily Scharl spoke about the “great riches that become visible here”, and he thanked for the possibilities given to the large family of the Church through the work of the Academy for Family Pedagogy.

Over four hundred family trainers in the service of couples

The successful history of the Academy of Family Pedagogy has thus added a new chapter. More than four hundred family trainer couples have come out of the fifty-five courses, and they are now at the service of the Church as apostles. They form a network of Christian homes that traverse Austria.

The next course will begin in Vienna on 23 March 2019 and will meet in the formation house at Schoenstatt am Kahlenberg. Information about the courses and how to apply can be found at http://akademie-familienpaedagogik.at.
