A pilgrimage from chapel to chapel

ARGENTINA, Silvia Marín •

On 8 December, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Rosary Campaign held the 14th pilgrimage to the chapels of Trenque Lauquen, a area of Buenos Aires. This year the pastor, Fr. Juan Pellergrino, accompanied them throughout the walk. The motto this year for the pilgrimage uniting chapels was “Mother gaze on us so we will live as brothers/sisters.” The motto was inspired on what then Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio had created for a diocesan pilgrimage to Luján.

They departed at 3:45 AM from the Wayside Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt, whose photo is already a part of the future mosaic of the Pilgrim Mother in Rome-Belmonte, located in the Municipal Park. On the way, they carried the Auxiliary MTA on a platform that was decorated with flowers and an Argentinean flag.

From there, they began to walk to all the cities chapels: St. Joseph, Fátima, Our Lady of the Rosary (in the Sisters’ School), Chapel of Itatí, Luján, Guadalupe, St. Martín of Porres, Miraculous Medal, St. Cayetano, Lourdes and the Chapel of the Rosary. They walked for five hours; they prayed the rosary and sang. They also prayed Morning Prayer from Heavenwards and the Angelus. Upon departing, they prayed the prayer to the Holy Spirit so that He would help them on the road. At the chapels, they dedicated the prayers to the devotion of each chapel.

The pilgrims had breakfast at Guadalupe Chapel; the people from the chapel arose very early to prepare it. The missionaries collaborated with everything necessary to organize this pilgrimage.
