The Blessed Mother’s muralist friends

ARGENTINA, City Bell, by Cristina Levaggi •

Schoenstatters of the Mother Thrice Admirable’s Wayside Shrine in City Bell, Argentina, share an enormous joy that they experienced on May 17, 1915.

For forty years they have dreamed and created a Covenant culture in all their pastoral and social activities in the Barrio El Ombú [El Ombú Neighborhood]. Now it concerned a project that would combine art and love in honor of the Blessed Mother of Schoenstatt: the Blessed Mother’s mural.

On May 17, they inaugurated the mural as a gift for the 100 years of the Covenant that Father Kentenich sealed with the Mother of God and also for City Bell’s one hundred years.

With art and the heart

They joyfully share how they did it with the entire Schoenstatt Family:

“We used the technique known as mosaics, and we used pieces of ceramic, slate, tile, broken plates, etc. that we gathered in the neighborhood and that many people donated for the Wayside Shrine (Street 28e/473 and 473 bis).

Gisela Galván was in charge of directing the mural that we made with love from all of us, gathering the youths on Thursdays and Saturdays for almost a year. Thanks to the Blessed Mother, we formed a beautiful group baptized “The Blessed Mother’s muralists friends,” open to anyone who was willing to help the other with art and with the heart. It is a very special gift for the Blessed Mother that combines art and infinite love!!!
