Jubilee Project “Schoenstatt France”

FRANCE/SPAIN, Jean-Philippe Sendat. During the Schoenstatt Jubilee, exactly on the afternoon of the 18th of October 2014, after the renewal of the Covenant, a Jubilee project was born inspired by the daring of the first sodalists: “conquer” France for and with the MTA and Schoenstatt. This initiative emerged from the will of the French who live in France and in Spain listening to the desire of continuing to develop a Schoenstatt community whose roots are sustained by the preceding Schoenstatt generations in France and the Cambrai Unity Shrine. The first concrete initiative was to create a Facebook page “Schoenstatt France,” which already has more than 500 followers from the allover the world and is continuing to grow daily.

French and French-Spanish families in France and Spain, lay people and consecrated are supporting this project with great joy. A continuous communication via email, telephone, whatsapp…allows dialogue about the orientation to take for the future of the organization of the project.

It is truly an experience lived and guided by the Blessed Mother through prayers, petitions and capital of grace.

And in fact, one of the desires of the group is that the “Auxiliary MTA for Europe”, the Queen of the New Evangelization will visit France as soon as possible.

She is awaited with much faith, prayer and encouragement! Every person follows his/her charism and free vocation based on God’s will. Loyalty to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (symbol of Catholic France) and to Mary will lead to a road of apostolate to make Schoenstatt and the Shrine known in every part of France.

First steps

Currently, a first encounter of “Schoenstatt France” will take place at the Cambrai Shrine on Sunday, the 18th of January, the day of the Lord.

Sister Michéla Schon, who is charge of the “Schoenstatt Home” in France, will transmit her testimony about the movement in Cambrai and the life of Joseph Engling.

On the other hand, “Schoenstatt France” requested and offered those in charge of schoenstatt.org to contribute to translate the webpage into French since the French speaking community is large.

The editors of schoenstatt.org accepted despite the complexity of the organization of a then six-language edition, and it will be attempted to begin as soon as possible with the work, in order to serve the Schoenstatt life in France and in so many French speaking countries, in this way, re-assuming an initiative initiated by Schoenstatt members in Burundi and Belgium.

Waiting for the visit of Pope Francis

It is important to stress the future visit of Pope Francis to France in 2015, and they are waiting to learn about the details in order to organize the participation of “Schoenstatt France” in the different ceremonies.

Finally, totally entrusted in the hands of the beloved Blessed Mother, it is hoped that from her blessing lights of grace and inspiration will flow through all of these initiatives and throughout France.

For any contact, especially by people who live in France, we are gladly available at schoenstattfrance@gmail.com
