WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES, Fr Jose Luis Correa •
This afternoon the meeting will take place of Schoenstatters taking part in the World Meeting of Families in Dublin with the Pope. Here are some impressions of the delegation from Costa Rica. —
Besides those taking part in the panel discussions (Mr & Mrs Moser from Brazil and Mr & Mrs Sickinger from Austria), and Fr Alexander Awi (Secretary of the Council for the Laity, Family and Life, which has the ultimate responsibility for the World Meeting), there are many other Schoenstatters here. Arno Hernandi from Germany has the organisation of the stand, as well a those who will take part in the forums, panel discussions and talks, who naturally meet along the way, in the dining halls and at the Masses.
People from many nations and languages in Dublin
We were very happy to meet large groups of Schoenstatt Families, for example, from USA, Paraguay, and naturally also Costa Rica. There are also a number of Mexicans here, among them a young woman from the Schoenstatt Youth in Queretaro who is studying Family Sciences at the University of the Legionaries of Christ in Mexico City. We met a few from Argentina and Chile – the latter are almost all part of the official delegation of the Chilean Bishops’ Conference led by Mr & Mrs Borgono, who are members of the Family League in Santiago. We also met the leader of the Schoenstatt Movement in Brazil, Fr Ivan Simicic, a diocesan priest from Puerto Rica, Fr Edgar, and a family from Ecuador.
From closer by there are Schoenstatters from Europe, and we saw some Sisters of Mary from Germany and Scotland, as well as one from Romania together with a Schoenstatt group from there. We have also caught sight of Schoenstatters from Austria, Germany, Poland and Spain!
Those are only the first impressions. We will write more after the meeting of Schoenstatters, which was organised with great commitment by couples from Costa Rica.
