On International Women’s Day, the government of Entre Ríos through the Senators’ Chamber paid tribute to outstanding women from Entre Ríos.  They selected a woman from every Department in the province, and a missionary of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign was the one chosen for Nogoyá.

It began with a simple picture hung on a tree

She is Elsa Inés García, a retired teacher from the Colegio del Huerto [Huerto School] of that city; she collaborated with the installation of the MTA Wayside Shrine in the El Chañar neighborhood.  What began with a simple picture hung on a tree on the grounds of about 1 1/12 hectares now has a beautiful Wayside Shrine, a large Unity Cross, a picture of Father Kentenich, and a multi-purpose hall, where catechesis is taught. In addition, there are diverse, team supported educational activities for children, youths, and adults.

The event was held at the Government Building in Paraná, where the vice-governor presented certificates to the award winners at the important ceremony.

Our Wayside Shrine!

“We are all very happy about Elsita’s recognition. She is always at the disposal of others, helping everyone,” a comment on the Schoenstatt website at Nogoyá.

She led us to the Wayside Shrine, and it is a pleasure every Saturday afternoon to share catechesis, games, and snacks with the children who love her so much.  Thanks Elsita for everything and above all because you make every Saturday a beautiful day that we enjoy at this very beautiful place: Our Wayside Shrine.”  “Thank you Elsita, many thanks on behalf of the entire community.”
